About the Program
Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business: MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) is designed to develop Business Data Scientists. The program brings together knowledge from three distinct fields of management, information systems/computer sciences and applied statistics to solve business problems. Classes begin each August and cover a wide range of current topics and provide rigorous training in the areas of data mining, machine learning, econometrics, relational and noSQL databases, text mining, data visualization, design of experiments, optimization, simulation, decision theory, consumer and human behavior.
Program Format and Schedule
The 15-credit fall semester has five courses: Managing Big Data, Intro to Business Analytics, Machine Learning I, Data Visualization, and Social Network Analysis. The 14-credit spring semester is comprised of Machine Learning II, Decision Analytics & Optimization, two electives chosen from Digital Marketing & Social Media Strategy, Revenue Management & Supply Chain Analytics, HR Analytics, and Sports Analytics, and finally, the capstone experiential learning course.
Experiential learning is a core element of the MSBA program. Students solve business problems for member companies of Goizueta’s board as well as other firms from across the spectrum of verticals. They not only use data provided by these firms but also combine firm level data with other public and proprietary data including from social media.

Emory University’s Goizueta Business School’s MSBA Program imparts strong technical and quantitative training plus comprehensive business acumen, all within a top 20 business school. Students will solve business problems for member companies of the board as well as other firms from across the spectrum of verticals using data provided by the firms, as well as public and proprietary data including social media.
Graduates of the program will occupy that unique position in an organization that is at the cusp of business, technology, and data.
