Belmont has been to the NCAA tourney the past 6 out of 8 years and knocked off #11 UNC this season. I still play hoops 4-5 times a week on campus and in games along the main line. Professor I most admire: Scot Burton, professor and endowed chair at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas (my mentor and dissertation chair). Scot is one of the most prolific marketing scholars in the field and is in the top 1% of professors in regards to scholarly productivity. He is an academic in the truest sense of the word and has won numerous awards for his teaching, research, and service. Most memorable moment as a professor: I spent a semester in Australia teaching graduate students and giving invited research talks to universities throughout Australia and New Zealand. During this time, I served as the ANZMAC Visiting International Scholar. “If I weren’t a b-school professor…” I would grow my marketing analytics consulting firm. In my free time, I consult for a number of successful organizations, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Circa Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson, Grocery Manufacturers Association, Food Marketing Institute, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Harris Interactive. From the “CBS Early Show” to the front page of USA Today’s World News section, Jeremy Kees, an emerging scholar in marketing and public policy has been there, done that. Kees’ research specialty lies in consumer behavior, a subject which won him much acclaim when the Food and Drug Administration proposed adding graphic images to cigarette warning labels. Kees’ research on anti-smoking interventions has gained widespread attention and contributed to his receiving several awards for research excellence. At Villanova, where he teaches Research Methods, MBAs rate Kees a 4.8 out of 5. “For graduate classes, I try to play the role of ‘discussion moderator’ rather than lecturer,” Kees writes in his class syllabus. “I’ve found that this type of classroom environment can be highly conducive to student learning (and more fun for both you and me).” Jeremy Kees is among “The World’s 40 Best B-School Profs Under the Age of 40“
