Well, Poets&Quants called HBS dean Nitin Nohria onto the Twitter carpet in 2011 for tweeting sporadically and feebly (only two tweets in his first year on Twitter), and the school now says Nohria quit Twitter altogether that year – though it was not possible to confirm if Poets&Quants‘ scathing review of his Twitter performance drove him off it. Brian Kenny, chief marketing and communications officer for HBS, says, “Ultimately for Nitin, Twitter wasn’t a medium that suited his style. He’s not active on social media.” Although Nohria “recognizes the importance of authenticity and being able to use his own voice,” he wasn’t able to be active enough on Twitter to “have it have value,” Kenny said.
