Can This Shrewd Indian Political Player Position Herself On A Glide Path To An MBA?

This 26-year-old professional has been working as a senior program coordinator for a political consultancy in India after having done two years in Teach for India. Harini had an undergraduate degree from Sastra University in industrial biotechnology and a master’s degree in public policy from the Willy Brandt School for Public Policy in Germany.

After taking the GRE and getting a score of 165 on the verbal and 162 on the quant, the equivalent of a 700 GMAT score, she is targeting a wide array of schools in the U.S., Canada and Europe. At the top of her list is Harvard Business School and London Business School. She also plans to apply to Oxford, Cornell, the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, the National University of Singapore and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

What are her chances? In this episode of Fridays With Sandy, HBSGuru Sandy Kreisberg assesses her candidacy and odds. He has some very important advice on her expressed career goals that could significantly shift the odds of admission in her favor at several of her target schools.
