What has been your favorite part of Atlanta so far? What has made it such a great place to earn an MBA?

I lived in the area prior to the MBA and what made me want to stay is the variety the city offers. You can be hiking in a National or State Park in the morning and in the city for a major sporting event or night on the town in the evening.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of the Scheller MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you?

The Core Team. It’s been a minute since I was a full-time student, and I knew that adjusting back into that would be challenging for me. Knowing that in my first semester I was going to be on a team and supported in the reintegration period was really important to me.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Georgia Tech?

It’s hard to choose one! I’m terrible at planning “a night out” so having a Social Club organize events for everyone to attend to decompress and just hang out with peers has been amazing.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far:

My biggest accomplishment is graduating from my undergrad university. I wouldn’t be where or who I am today without that chapter in my life. It took me six years and a lot of support to navigate through to  the end.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far:

Honestly just getting into the program. I am a first-generation college student and come from a small town in central PA. At no point growing up did I imagine I would be attending such an amazing university and pursuing my MBA.

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far?

It has to be from my interview/welcome weekend before I was accepted into the program. I attended a Women’s Dinner event with recently admitted and current students in the program. I was sitting and the head of the table next to two admitted students that I didn’t know, and we were having your typical “get to know you” conversation. I think I said I liked soccer and the two people I was next to immediately said they liked soccer too. It was a “did we just become best friends” moment and they are my best friends in the program today!

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Georgia Tech Scheller’s MBA program?

I would say be yourself and find the right fit for you. Connect with current students to gain an understanding of what the program is really like and if it is where you can see yourself thriving.
