What excites you the most about living in NYC and how do you see it enhancing your learning experience? It’s the absolute best city in the world! I have the opportunity to connect with successful and driven professionals as well as industry leaders. This atmosphere allows you to continue to explore the ideas you may have and work on bigger and better things.

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of NYU Stern’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? As I mentioned earlier, the opportunities to explore your ideas and pursue a career in finance are unmatched. NYU Stern provides an abundance of resources to help people pursue careers in whatever they are passionate about. Also, as a Veteran, Stern has the best Veterans community and program of any business school. The Fertitta Veterans MBA Program and Scholarship have truly been impactful in so many different ways.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at NYU Stern? I am excited to be a part of the Entrepreneurship and Startup Association (ESA) and the Military Veterans Club (MVC). It’s going to be fun bouncing ideas off each other and seeing people push forward with their projects. Additionally, the military community is something I have always cherished, and the MVC will help me stay connected with other Stern Veterans!

What does EQ (Emotional Intelligence) mean to you and when have you seen its value in your career? EQ is imperative in every industry. Most jobs that we recruit for are going to be extremely relationship-driven, and it’s important to be able to connect with others and truly understand who they are. In the military, I have seen the importance of this in so many different situations. Whether it was motivating my team to get something done in less-than-ideal situations or just forming relationships to tackle issues in which the normal processes do not work, EQ is essential.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: The biggest accomplishment in my career was successfully leading my 62 airmen team in the Air Force to operate a 24/7 airfield at MacDill Air Force Base. It was an extremely rewarding experience where I was also surrounded by the best mentors who continued to challenge me to be better.

What is your unique quality that will enable you to make a big contribution to the Class of 2026? I am very passionate and relationship-oriented, and I believe that I will be able to help push my classmates to help reach their professional and personal goals.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into NYU Stern’s MBA program? I had so much fun doing my application for NYU Stern. It gave me time to reflect and really define who I am. My advice is that it should feel easy when you are completing the application. Do not try to pretend to be someone who you are not because Stern values you for who you are.
