P&Q: What types of support does your career center and alumni provide to MBA students? How have these services and relationship made your graduates more competitive in the marketplace?

Clarke: “Darden alumni are incredibly supportive of current and prospective students. They show up to admissions events, they help students with internships and job searches, and invite new graduates into the network in meaningful ways. The number one question we hear from alumni is: “How can I help?” That culture infuses the student body, and they pay it forward when they graduate.

The Darden Career Center is simply top-notch. Like much of Darden, they take a high-touch, personalized approach, with outreach beginning before students set foot on Grounds. There are also dedicated team members with deep industry and geographical knowledge focused on areas of key interest for students. Coaching and support runs the gamut, from providing holistic assistance such as helping students’ create their individual career plans, to more tactical preparation such as resume and cover letter reviews, technical mock interviews and more.

And, the proof is in the results: Students are getting the jobs they want, with record salaries year after year and 100 percent of students completing an internship between First and Second year. The support does not end at graduation, either, and Darden graduates receive coaching and support from Alumni Career Services for life.”
