2025-2026 MBA Admissions Events By School

Eyes meet. A smile and a handshake. Maybe talk around a shared interest or a mutual colleague. In the end, hopefully an impression left and a next step revealed.

The memory and the connection. That’s why MBA applicants sign up for events. Those meetings make you more than just a name to an admission rep. In those precious moments, you can position yourself as a leader to be admired, an alter ego to be guided, and a dreamer to be championed. Posing the right questions can make you stand out as serious. And tapping into the right cultural values can reflect that you are, indeed, one of them.

That makes all the difference. After all, adcoms will push for acceptances and aid for the people they know, like, and trust.

A LOOK AT THE TOP SCHOOLS AND EVENTS

School-sponsored events are the perfect spot to show you are committed to returning to school and capable of handling those core quant courses. And these events go by many names. On campus or virtually, you’ll hear them called Information sessions, open houses, group chats, Q&As, program overviews, or office hours. Away from school, they go by names like fairs, conferences, road shows, panels, roundtables, meet-and-greets, socials, and mixers. Many times, they are branded with a dining component: luncheons, breakfasts, happy hours, and coffee chats.

Regardless of venue, these events are a place to meet with admissions representatives, students, and alumni. In many cases, they offer a training component. For example, the University of Michigan’s Ross School holds virtual workshops on financial aid, essay writing, and re-applications. At the same time, Ross produces sessions on some of its marquee offerings, including the Erb Institute on sustainability and its Tauber Institute covering global operations. The University of Chicago’s Booth School features 18 Masterclass recordings, where applicants can be exposed to its Chicago Method of teaching and analysis in areas ranging from reading financial statements to measuring advertising effectiveness. Not to be outdone, USC’s Marshall School hosts activities where prospective students can network with alumni. This year, these events include nature hikes, pickleball tournaments, and the races at Del Mar.

Of course, there are the big roadshows that kick into gear this summer and fall. In June, you’ll find 10 leading programs, including Stanford, Wharton, Northwestern Kellogg, and Virginia Darden, partnering for Top Business Schools Present. Over the coming weeks, these schools are set to hit Paris, London, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Denver. The ever popular GMAC MBA Tour starts out in Kansas City on June 24, but then runs the gauntlet in July with stops in New York City, Chicago Atlanta, Houston, San Francisco, Singapore, and Manilla. Not only can candidates meet with school representatives on the tour, but they can also receive resume reviews and even have their headshot taken. Come August, the Forté MBA Forums will be visiting locales like DC, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Toronto. By the time the Class of 2027 arrives on campus, school representatives will be fanning out across North America and Europe for the Access MBA Roadshow.
