I worked with Petia through MBA ABC, and it was one of the best decisions I made in the whole process. I had worked with other advisors the year before, but the depth Petia goes into is just on another level. She never tried to rewrite my story for me. She kept it mine, respected it, and pushed me to tell it in a way that actually landed, and that’s really what made me choose her.

When I started looking for an MBA consultant, my situation was not ideal. It was mid-October, I had not yet taken the GMAT, and I had roughly two and a half months to put together my entire R2 application. I entered this admissions cycle extremely hesitant about hiring a consultant. I had a lackluster experience the year before and was not sure I wanted to go down that road again. Still, I wanted to keep an open mind.

Every other top-rated firm I reached out to refused to even glance at my previous HBS application, which had earned me an interview but not admission, unless I first paid for their services. Petia’s first response to my (very passionate) email was, “Send me your application packet from last year.” I had not asked her to review it, yet she did not hesitate to help before any transaction was made. While I always fancied myself to be a strong writer, working with Petia sharpened that strength in unexpected ways. Even after I was admitted, she connected me with mentors in her network, helped me think through complex career decisions, and consistently checked in as I structured my concurrent degrees at Sloan and Harvard Law. None of that was required or part of the initial transaction. She does it because she genuinely cares about the people she works with and the lives they are building.

If you are hesitating, wondering whether hiring a consultant is worth it, I understand completely. I, too, was skeptical. I did the research. I spoke with the highest rated firms. I almost walked away from the process altogether. Choosing Petia was the single best decision I made in this admissions cycle.

Yes, I have no doubt she’ll help you get into business school (and maybe even law school, despite that not being her specialty… I mean, what CAN’T she do!!). For a non traditional candidate, MBA admissions is a lonely process – I had very few “role models” in my industry to seek guidance from. I also didn’t have anybody in my immediate circle applying for B-Schools.

Petia’s MBA ABC program gave me a community – for the uninitiated, it is a “group consulting” program for ~20 applicants, which includes a complete application review (2 rounds of feedback each) for 2 schools of our choosing. I was able to forge strong friendships with my fellow applicants at MBA ABC, and I’m actually going to the same school as someone I met there.

Petia goes way above and beyond what she promises to her ABCers. The time and energy spent by Petia on reviewing my applications were very close to what you get working one-on-one with her. When I was waitlisted at a particular school, and Petia graciously connected me with one of her ex-clients who went to that school to help me out. The very mention of Petia’s name opens doors, and the people she is associated with are ready to run through a brick wall for her, and I must say, I feel the same way about Petia!

I worked with Petia in the R2 iteration of MBA ABC. Transparently, I ticked most boxes on paper and already had R1 admits to M7 + T10 schools (with $$-$$$), so I wasn’t fully convinced I needed a consultant. But I wanted to apply to just two more schools, and Petia seemed to know her stuff, and the 2 rounds of review on 2 (full!) school applications + my resume made ABC seem like excellent value.
And it was. Three things about Petia and MBA ABC really stood out to me:

1) Petia is warm. She is kind. She is SO encouraging. She was very, very good at calming me down when I was hopping around totally stressing myself out, without ever coming off as placatory and insincere. I truly underestimated how much value this vibe would bring to the process—I thought I wanted a ‘no-nonsense’ blunt consultant—but a cheerleader is what I needed, and Petia 150% delivered.

2) That’s absolutely not to say she isn’t honest. I appreciated her bluntly telling me that my resume was so busy it was reading as ‘anxious’, and equally appreciated her directly telling me not to touch my first draft of What Matters Most to You and Why (though this lack of edits gave me very high levels of stress at the time!). You want this honesty in the process.

3) MBA ABC really didn’t feel transactional. I have a lot of friends who felt their (very expensive) consultants were timing every second. Petia really cared—she extended deadlines, turned around last-minute submissions, responded to midweek messages, happily reviewed little extras like application short answers, and went significantly over time every week patiently answering questions in our group calls. When I was invited to interview at the GSB she volunteered a full hour of her time to practice with me.

MBA ABC isn’t a magic bullet if you don’t have your story in place—to get the most out of it I think you may need to be a reapplicant/ invest quite a bit of time positioning your application. But I’d really recommend working with Petia—whether through MBA ABC or a higher touch program.

During an epic application process, Petia was an amazing consultant and a true friend and ally. When I began applying to schools, all I knew was that I wanted to get my MBA to make a career pivot, but I hadn’t done much reflection on my journey thus far. All of the praise for Petia is well deserved! Coming from an engineering background, I wasn’t aware of all of the ins-and-outs of the MBA application process. From our intro call, I knew immediately she was the one I wanted to work with. Petia assured to me that my profile was very admissible and that it would come down to my execution.

With the Application Boost Camp and a three-hour package, I was able to achieve more than I thought. I interviewed at all six of the schools I applied to, ultimately converting 5/6 to acceptances which included full rides to a T20, T15, and T10 and a half ride an M7.

A short story: I did a consultation call with another “highly rated” MBA consultant and she told me that being an older applicant would hurt my chances and needed to focus on X to be able to get in. I remember telling this to Petia on one our ABC sessions, and Petia was basically like that’s absurd (if you could only see her facial expression), your profile makes you such a strong applicant and was genuinely confused why I thought that. A great example of how invested she is in you and isn’t trying to tell you that you have low chances of being admitted just to scare you into purchasing a package.

For me, Petia’s biggest strengths were her ability to listen, to boost my confidence, and to create space for me to freely develop my narrative while incorporating her feedback. For instance, when we started working together, we spent several hours recounting my life, interests, goals, and accomplishments, during which Petia managed to both take extensive notes and ask probing questions on the points she found most compelling.
