Scott and his team were instrumental in helping me prepare my business school applications. Their collaborative and iterative process pushes candidates to really think through their experiences, how to position themselves, and ultimately craft their best possible application. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
I am glad I chose Scott to work with – I surveyed 5-6 consultants before finalizing on Scott. I had a minor employment gap on my CV and that made some of the consultants anxious. But Scott’s confidence in my profile made me feel confident about applying to the best schools. Additionally, he seems to have a good understanding of the schools and that helped me feel that I am in good hands. Scott made sure that I owned the narrative and the story in my essays. He did not take over the narrative at any point, but held the process – making sure my output is of the highest quality. His team is very responsive and timely, as is Scott. He makes sure he respects his end of the bargain in terms of timelines – always an iteration in 2-3 days. Initially, I was not able to adjust to the process of iterating on essays, and when I discussed this, he adapted his process to suit my needs better. This really helped me push along. He also has a strong point of view on fit based on your profile – though he wouldn’t push you strongly to the ‘safe’ schools. I chose to go with his advice on some of the schools and received a full scholarship from one of the schools! Couldn’t be happier with the outcomes.
I worked with Personal MBA Coach for a 2 school package, with help on applications. Before starting my application, I was very nervous because I am notoriously bad with spelling and grammar. Scott was able to answer all of my questions and help me create a strong application. Ultimately, I was able to get into my top MBA program pick! Thank you again. Personal MBA Consultant.
I used Personal MBA Coach for their 5-school package, and I ended up signing up for my sixth school since they broke down the complicated application process into a simpler step-by-step process.
Before I started my application process, I did a fair bit of research on consultants, and finally decided to go with Personal MBA Coach. From Day 1, Scott will give you the honest, non-sugarcoated advice that everybody needs. As a business school applicant, you need to understand what your strengths are as well as your weaknesses. Most consultants are good with telling you your strengths, but they are not as good with telling you your weaknesses as they do not want to upset you. Scott was different, and hence I decided to go with Scott and his team.
Throughout the application process, I knew that I could rely on Personal MBA Coach as Scott was always there and would answer my emails/questions even during weekends or Christmas! From minor points in my overall story to locations I should select for my interviews, Scott would answer all my questions (no matter how minor and tedious they might be).
I am now admitted by one of the top 3 programs in the US, and will be matriculating this fall. I highly recommend Personal MBA Coach if you are looking for the best consultant in the industry as I know I probably would not have made it without Scott and his team.
I highly recommend working with Scott! From Day 1, Scott gave me insights about the application process and specific schools that I would not have known otherwise. I tend to be indecisive and Scott’s direct style helped immensely during the process. I always felt like he was on my side and available, whether by email or a phone call any day of the week. I particularly appreciated the help he provided on my resume to get to the right level of detail. On essays, Scott provides just the right amount of feedback, allowing you to maintain your personal voice and authenticity. I also found his school-specific essay guide extremely helpful! On top of everything, Scott is trustworthy and reliable. I ended up applying to just one M7 school and am thrilled to be attending! I plan to recommend Scott to friends who apply to business school in the future.
I reached out to PersonalMBACoach for their “Gut Check” service less than two weeks before the deadlines for my two schools – HBS (admitted) and GSB (waitlisted) – and I’m super glad I did. Prior to sending it over, I was positive about my application and had spent two months on it. However Scott and his team dug deep and provided strong constructive feedback that showed I still had a long way to go. They even went beyond the provisions of the package and reviewed additional edits for each application. Within a week, my application was looking much better. I highly recommend Scott and his team at any stage of your application process!
I can’t say enough good things about Scott and his team. I would 100% recommend him to anyone who is applying to business school. His personal approach is unique. Anytime we needed to chat, he was available for calls. I always spoke to him, as his team operated efficiently in the background. Scott was always expedient on responding to emails and he was meticulous when he provided suggested edits to essays and application prompts. If we did not see eye-to-eye on a certain detail as it pertained to the essays or application, he would explain his thoughts in-depth, and then we would come to an agreed-upon decision on how to approach. Ultimately, he helped me achieve my goal of getting into one of my top choices, and I cannot be any happier. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team to achieve my dream of matriculating at a top-20 MBA program. Thank you again, Scott!
I would 100% recommend Scott to anyone. Though, I almost don’t want to so I can reserve him for my closest friends.
I met with several consultants before working with Scott. He was the only one who I felt like would push me to get to where I needed to be with direct, thoughtful feedback. From the beginning, Scott’s approach was dedicated to getting at the heart of my story and enabling me to bring that to life. His guidance helped me use my own voice to make my story sing.
Scott is also incredibly efficient with a very structured process (digital tools etc.) which I really appreciated when trying to navigate work and the application process. Ultimately, this dedication and efficiency make for a truly effective consultant. I was accepted into 2 top programs with his support. Thanks, Scott!
Scott is on your team on day 1 and tells you exactly what needs to be addressed and how to get it done. He is extremely responsive, direct, and involved throughout the whole process. I am excited to say that I have been accepted to a few of my target programs. When researching potential consultants, PersonalMBACoach struck me as a service that would provide the greatest value for me and I am happy to say that Scott turned out to be great. I would wholeheartedly recommend PersonalMBACoach to anyone that is serious about the MBA process!
The best In class consultancy that I’ve worked with! You can rest assured that you’re in safe hands. When I approached them it was a challenge, with most of the deadlines fast approaching. But they were extremely resourceful ensuring that I complete the applications well within the deadline. It’s highly Customized and personalized ensuring your applications completely reflect who you are and your story. The founder won’t settle for anything less than supreme quality on your applications and essays. They will push you to think through and get the best of your capabilities out to be written on the applications! They helped me with repeated iterations and edits of my application until I was completely satisfied! Strong and honest, feedback with each edit was extremely helpful, and it also made it much easier for me to complete my essays. They have exhaustive knowledge and information about every b-school and helped me tailor my applications accordingly. The Personal MBA Coach was always available, despite the time difference, whenever I needed help, be it any last-minute queries with the form or selection of the schools. I’ve been extremely fortunate to get the opportunity to work on my applications with Personal MBA Coach. My applications have been spot on, and I owe my success on the applications to them! Besides and above all this, the founder, Scott, is an amazing human being and a very kind soul!! You’ll thoroughly enjoy the process of the applications. I very strongly recommend Personal MBA Coach for candidates aspiring to into their dream b-school!
Scott and his team of editors were hugely helpful in my application journey. I was accepted to 3 of the 6 M7 programs I applied to, and I don’t know if that would have happened without his support. From the initial work, we did together (writing a goal statement and resume from scratch) through the 15+ rounds of edits on each school’s essays, his editors had sharp, strong feedback, and what felt like clear knowledge as to what each school was looking for.
If you’re looking for a consultant to manage the overwhelming process of applying to b school, someone to help organize your time or to-do list, or someone you’ll speak to regularly on the phone, Scott is not your guy.
However, if you’re self-motivated, want his unmatched one sheeters on how to prepare an application for each school, and want tough critical feedback (that is always returned quickly) that will get your applications to the best possible place, I highly recommend Personal MBA Coach.
I decided to work with Scott after doing consultations with four other firms. I was very disillusioned about the industry and wasn’t sure if I even wanted to work with anyone. Upon speaking with him, I was very pleasantly surprised by our natural chemistry and his easygoing nature. Rather than pushing a cookie-cutter narrative for my industry, he asked me for my story and pointed out areas that I should give more thought to. I was incredibly aggressive/ambitious in my school selection, however, Scott was very encouraging while still holding me accountable. Scott’s team pushed me to take my essays to new levels which I can now appreciate was instrumental in bringing my personality to life in the application. When I did not perform well on my GMAT, Scott was very direct with me that I was jeopardizing my future success. After leveraging Personal MBA Coach’s GMAT tutoring service, I was able to hit my target score. The interview prep, specifically for Wharton’s TBD, helped me ease my nerves before the actual interviews. I was waitlisted at my top choice and heavily relied on Scott’s guidance in writing update letters and also for strategies on how to navigate the smoke and mirrors of being a waitlisted candidate. I have so much respect for Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach. Their commitment to helping early-career individuals achieve their professional goals is unwavering. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone who is looking for a customized partnership in the application process. I am extremely excited and proud to be following in Scott’s footsteps by attending Wharton this fall!!
It is hard to imagine where I would be in my MBA journey without Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team in my corner. I am proud to say that I have been accepted to several of my top MBA programs. I looked into many MBA consulting companies, but after talking with Scott, he was clearly the best choice for me because I knew that I was getting personalized, no-nonsense service. Scott and his team worked with me every step of the way to help me find my voice and craft my unique MBA story. I leverage Personal MBA Coach for school selection support, personal story development, essay crafting/editing, resume editing, and interview preparation. Scott works with you 1:1 on all aspects of the process, responds promptly, and affords you countless revisions. Additionally, he leverages an easy-to-use editing software that makes the process seamless. One unique aspect of Scott’s approach is his transparency and honest feedback. He truly wants to see you succeed, keeps you grounded, and helps you articulate your strengths in the most effective way possible. Lastly, I want to recognize Scott and his team for being flexible with me through sudden family hardships during my application process. It is clear that Scott cares about his clients and always keeps their best interests in mind. I highly recommend hiring Personal MBA Coach as you embark on your MBA journey. Thank you, Personal MBA Coach!
Scott and his team have it all figured out. They take you through the different components of the process very methodically. They are a well-oiled machine.
The unlimited essay/short answer support was huge for me. Scott and his team pushed/challenged my thinking and forced me to dig deep. I really appreciated the critique and feedback.
I also appreciated Scott serving as the single point of contact for me. His timeliness response to my emails and questions was very important to me throughout this process.
I talked to several different consulting firms before deciding to use Scott. Scott’s knowledge of the process and the MBA arena is unmatched. He was prompt with response and honest about everything during the process leading to my admission to an M7. Thanks for everything!!!
I signed up with the Personal MBA Coach after talking with several consultants because I felt that they could help see beyond of myself and really dig into my stories. It turns out that I was not wrong. Throughout the application process, their timely responses and reviews, and very good organizations really help making the process as smooth as it could be. I would totally agree with other reviews that the most valuable piece is the team really push to identify my unique story and goals, and be specific about them. Moreover, the team also helped prep for the interviews and provided very helpful feedbacks for areas to be improved on. Overall, it was a great and worthy experience!
I had a very short list of schools (Stanford, Harvard) I wanted to apply to. He went through the competitive analysis for each school and proposed an application theme that was tailored to my strengths. He has a great plan to tackle each school’s application process. He even talked me through a fellowship application and helped me secure a scholarship!! All in all, Scott’s invaluable help got me into HBS!
So I was very late in my application process when I chose to work with Scott. I chose Scott because he could see me beyond the “traditional buckets” of being an Indian male engineer with an average GMAT. We started off by applying to 2 schools in tandem while I took more time to pick the other 2. The resume building, story sorting, etc. took several iterations but it was closed only once I was satisfied. I even had some last-minute changes in school because during the essay writing I realized I was not a good fit with the school, but Scott was accommodating.
Overall, Scott helped me cherry-pick my experiences to create a coherent story for each of my application depending on the school’s requirements. He is always available even for the most mundane queries and is extremely professional in handling everything, something that I wanted from the start; I did not want to work with someone who would give me personal advice/opinions. I got admit in 2 of the schools I applied to, scholarship at 1 of them, 1 reject and 1 WL. All the schools were FT rank top 20. I would recommend Scott for anyone who wants to put their best foot forward for their MBA application.
Scott and the team helped me a lot with my admissions process. Below are some of the key reasons why:
1) Knowledgeable: He is extremely knowledgeable about the admissions process, clearly laying out how to best approach the essays (and other requirements for the school) and tailor the messaging appropriately for practically any top school.
2) Experienced: His 12+ years of experience is also extremely handy, as he can share best practices from earlier candidates with similar profiles. This was extremely helpful for me as I started the process quite late – however, Scott was able to quickly go through my profile, resume and preliminary goals to distill the key messages and points to expand on to make a successful application
3) Well-organized: Scott has a clear and efficient plan, which he tailors basis the time available and the schools being targeted. Again, this was hugely beneficial to me, given my late start – having a process planned out and mapped week by week till the R1 deadlines helped me meet every deadline without any last-minute hassles.
4) Approachable: Despite working in a completely different time zone (10.5 hours apart), Scott and his team were always available to help, throughout the process (including waitlists).
5) Prompt and efficient: Scott’s responses were always prompt, usually in 24 hours, or at max (rarely) in 48 hours. Despite the time zone difference, there was no drop in intensity throughout the entire duration I worked with Scott.
6) Comprehensive: Scott’s approach covers all aspects of the application. I personally worked with him and his team on improving my resume, crafting a compelling storyline from my experiences and goals, drafting and refining essays + other application materials (with no cap on iterations – Scott kept pushing on details until we were both satisfied), interview prep and waitlist support. He also has other services covering the remainder of the applicant’s life cycle (pre-application, eg GMAT/ GRE prep, etc; and post-application decision, etc) – however, I did not personally use these.
Tl;dr summary – Highly recommend; knowledgeable, experienced, approachable, well-organized, prompt and efficient and comprehensive.
Scott and the team were super helpful for preparing for the Harvard Business School interview. I got helpful, targeted advice to make myself a more competitive applicant. I wish I had considered Personal MBA Coach earlier at the beginning of my MBA application journey!
While I have yet to be convinced applying to Business School should be as time-intensive of a process that it ends up being, the rules to the game are clear and Scott was an excellent coach to help get me there. Without him in your corner, I believe you are playing at a disadvantage.
I appreciated Scott’s candid approach to our initial one-on-one call while I was vetting consultants and then during our “get-to-know-you” phase. It was sincere, honest, and without the unnecessary “flair” you might get with other consultants. After this, as other reviewers mention, almost all of our communication was via email, which complimented my style.
I found that Scott’s patience and guidance while drafting my first few essays were the biggest help and I was able to leverage what I learned into successful applications for other top schools as well.
I highly recommend working with Scott and the team! In addition to being incredibly knowledgeable about each school’s admissions process, Scott spent the time to listen and internalize my story. Ultimately, he helped me to identify and highlight my most relevant experiences to appeal to each school. Personal MBA Coach is also extremely organized and has fantastic response times. To that end, after deciding to apply very late in the process, I applied to 5 schools in an approximate 45-day span and finished with plenty of time to spare. The team kept me on track with specific due dates for requesting (and following up on) recommendations, brainstorming, and submitting essay drafts. Finally, Scott found the time to jump on impromptu calls to calm my nerves more than once. I was accepted at my dream school and could not be more pleased with my experience working with Personal MBA Coach.
After an admissions journey that lasted nearly a year and countless hours of work and stress, my saving grace was Scott and the staff at Personal MBA Coach. We came up with an actionable plan to achieve admission to my target schools and achieved it far easier than I ever expected. Scott was there every step of the way to ensure my admissions package was tailored to exactly what top MBA programs desire. It was a worthwhile investment that I’d highly recommend to anyone with aspirations of top b-school admission.
Great experience with Scott — Scott makes the otherwise daunting application process seem manageable, and coaches you through every step of the way. The most valuable piece being his early push to identify your unique story and goals. Ultimately, through working with Scott I was able to great into my 3 top choices (HBS, Wharton, Sloan)
Looking back on my MBA application journey, I can say with certainty that the best decision I made was to hire Personal MBA Coach. I was by no means an easy client. My testing saga ended up taking much longer than expected, and because of this, I ended up working with Scott and the team through R1 and R2. They never complained. While other firms I initially reached out to would not provide the flexibility for me to start working with them while still working through the testing, Scott had no problem with it. He also promised that I would have direct access to him, instead of someone who worked for him, as many of the other firms had arranged. After finally getting a strong test score under my belt, I was left with about a month to complete all of my applications. While Scott and the team typically recommend and request that the essays be near completion at this stage, they worked through each draft with me up until the final deadlines. There were countless drafts and emails exchanged between us. They answered every nitpicky question that I had in a timely fashion, even during the holidays. When it came time to interview, Scott set me up with his interviewing experts, who thoroughly prepared me for each interview. I ended up getting into every single school that I applied to with many full rides, and am now in the position to choose between Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. Scott’s expertise, dedication, transparency, and most importantly, patience, allowed for my lofty goals to become a reality. As I was searching for a consultant, I was given an important piece of advice, while consultants can be expensive, so is business school. This decision can make all the difference in the long run. I would recommend Scott and his amazing team to anyone in search of a consultant. I speak with conviction when I say that you won’t regret hiring Personal MBA Coach. Best of luck!
TL:DR – Choose Scott, he is great 🙂
Detailed feedback: I am a female candidate from India with a GMAT of 750 and wanted to get into one of either Harvard, Stanford or Wharton. I researched multiple consultants to work with and spoke with all of them, and finally zeroed down on Scott from Personal MBA Coach. A key reason for me to choose to work with Scott was the fact he individually had a great success rate and that I get to directly work with him, unlike other firms where there were multiple consultants and there was the ambiguity of whether I will get a good consultant.
Scott gives great clarity on how to approach the application tailored for each school, while also offering flexibility on the overall approach. For example, I had taken the 6 school package but hadn’t finalized on which schools to apply. Given the lofty target of HSW, I wanted to cover my base by applying to a couple of other schools with better admit chances. I took a sudden decision to apply to CBS within a week of the deadline in round 1. Scott was completely understanding and helped me put together a great application in a short span of time, and I got an admit!
Scott’s style of working is a bit different from what I am used to, as after the initial analysis call, our entire communication was completely on email. Since he personally works with all of his clients, this time crunch is to be expected. While it took me some time to get used to it, we were effectively able to work with each other on all applications to my satisfaction. He is was very responsive and ensured he got back within 2 days for all communications, irrespective of whether it was weekends or holidays. He makes the entire process simple and less complicated, which resulted in me being able to apply to 6 schools with time to spare (with some other consultants I spoke with, they said the process is so complicated that I can at max target 4 schools). The ability to apply to multiple schools reduced the risk of not getting admitted in any, and hence reduced the pressure on me.
His clear insight on what each schools want helped me crack London Business School, Columbia Business School and Wharton. Though I would have loved if I had cracked Stanford and Harvard as well, I wouldn’t have been able to have the success I have had without Scott’s guidance.
I really enjoyed working with Scott on my application. He was very honest and straight-forward. His turnaround time was super quick and he provided a lot of insight into the behind the scenes thoughts that the Ad Com may have. I would 100% recommend.
I spoke to a few consultants before deciding on Scott. He was immediately upfront about his package as well as his approach to getting you what you want. I was able to speak openly about what I wanted from my MBA as well as what I expected from working with him. He was flexible in letting me choose schools that I was interested in and always made sure that I was happy with what I was putting forward. He helped me narrow down what I should talk about by doing several drafts and making me really think about why I was putting something down. Scott was responsive and got me revisions in an extremely timely manner. I felt relieved from a lot of stress if I had done this on my own and had to constantly worry about what admissions officers were looking for. I’m happy with the results and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Scott was really helpful during the application process. I only consulted him after I got to the interview stage and the mock he organized with his colleague Jeremiah was an invaluable preparation tool. It helped build my confidence and helped me tackle every interview situation I ended up facing later.
Trying to find an ideal MBA coach is a tricky partnership. You need to find someone who is honest, understandable and is able to work with you to be creative as possible. I had interviewed a few coaches and instantly felt the connection with Scott. As I made a decision to apply very late into the year and was very close to deadlines, Scott was very specific on the schools that I can potentially get into. As I had a very interesting background, I had gone ahead and wrote my life history – which gave him insight to really dive deep to see what I wanted. He then helped in being more specific with my background, overall achievements and fine-tuned things that were needed to make me a great candidate for these programs. I got tutoring for my EA exam as well as interview coaching. I ended up getting into my dream school!!!
Thanks a lot to Scott and his team for helping me every step of the way!
I was skeptical of working with a consultant but after meeting Scott at an MBA fair, I decided to work with him after speaking with several references who also provided glowing reviews. Coming from consulting, I knew that the pools of MBA applicants were strong, and I really wanted to give myself the best shot at the programs I was interested in and not have to re-apply. I knew I had lots of stories I wanted to tell, but Scott helped me hone and sharpen my personal narrative in a way I don’t think I would have pushed myself to do. His services are definitely worth investing in if you want to give yourself the best shot at admission!
After having preliminary calls with multiple different consultants I chose to work with Scott through his Early MBA Planning package and am very happy that I did. I did not realize how little I knew about how to present myself to the admissions offices and can say with confidence that without his help I would not have gotten into all three of my round one schools, including Wharton, my top choice (Booth and CBS were the others). The price tag was initially a bitter pill to swallow but was worth it many times over in the end. He not only helped me craft a very strong application from an atypical background but also helped me clarify to myself why I was really going back to school and enabled me the confidence to pursue the programs that really suited my specific goals. All in all, I would recommend Scott wholeheartedly – I have already recommended him to all of my friends who are beginning the application process.
My dream comes true. Scott is the best MBA consultant. I could only prepare my EMBA application 4 weeks before the R2 application deadline. Some other consultants said it was not possible, but Scott said, “IT IS DOABLE. Let’s do it.” Scott was resourceful, diligent, and honest throughout the application process. He has an amazing EA teacher, Marissa, that help me acquire the skills necessary to tackle the EA exam with a decent score. Without working with him and his team, I would have never admitted to the Wharton EMBA program – the only EMBA program that I apply in 2020.
After speaking to several admissions consultants, I got the feeling that working with Scott would be the right decision. I was correct. Scott was excellent at providing suggestions that highlighted my strengths and helped navigate the somewhat awkward process of writing about myself. He was also frank and direct, qualities that were invaluable during that period of self-reflection and helped me craft an authentic yet refined narrative. Further, the interview prep facilitated by Scott was incredibly helpful to understand how to position myself after earning interviews.
Ultimately, I was admitted to both of the M7 schools to which I applied in large part due to the work that I did with Scott.
I’m really happy that I got Scott’s help throughout the application process! This is the choice that I didn’t regret. I was not quite confident on my background at the beginning and thought every school on my list would be a reach school. But after consulting with Scott, I gained my confidence and got the guidance that I needed. Scott was very patient throughout the process and always responded fast. The mock interview was also a huge help – the feedback I received was very honest and I got a thorough understanding of what kind of people the admissions are looking for.
I was admitted to the top 1 choice school on my list with a scholarship. I would strongly recommend Scott to anyone who is applying to B-schools.
During the early stages of my search, I spoke with several admission consultants – many of whom worked for and promised the benefits which came under a larger organization. However, on my initial call with Scott, Scott promised me that he would personally oversee every aspect of my application – and he absolutely did: from the initial conversation to discuss goals all the way to receiving the admit call from my top choices. His hands-on guidance was much needed in helping me shape my story, what each individual school is looking for, and where I would have the best chances for success. Scott had all the resources I needed to succeed.
Scott made the essay-writing process easy – he asked me questions that were critical in bringing together my motivations and the right personal examples to demonstrate them. His turnaround was quick and allowed me to finish 4 applications in 6 weeks (I would certainly recommend more time just to really perfect them and give yourself a buffer).
In all, I was admitted to 3 M7 schools and 1 T15 (half-ride) with a mediocre GPA, so Scott’s method speaks for itself. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to start their b school journey.
There were several hurdles I faced when applying to MBA programs: (1) I have below-average stats for M7 schools (quite far below), (2) I am a non-traditional candidate with an impact-focused background and no “recognizable companies” on my resume, (3) I tend to overthink my written communication/essays and sabotage myself. Scott helped me overcome all three. I knew that to highlight my nontraditional background in a way that would help overcome my stats and to avoid overthinking this process, I would need some third party, expert help. I ended up choosing Scott because he was direct, professional, humble, and concise in our first communication and maintained this approach throughout our time working together. He has a deep knowledge of schools. He provided me with excellent analytical support on school admission results. He helped me craft my story compellingly, drawing out the key attributes of my experience that allowed me to address my unique fit with and genuine ability to contribute to each school I chose to apply to. The interview prep was also fantastic. I really attribute my mock interview to doing well in my actual interview at a top 3 school, which ultimately resulted in admission. I cannot recommend Scott highly enough. I will be referring him to any and all friends who are considering applying to business school.
I chose to go with Scott after making the usual consultation rounds as I felt our initial chat was the most earnest and straightforward out of everyone that I talked to. I liked the fact that his business model allowed him to personally oversee my application process the whole way through.
Scott’s pedigree second to none as is his deep deep knowledge of the top institutions and the candidate profiles they go after. I knew I needed someone to help me craft my story and help me refine my essays, and Scott’s team was able to push me to produce materials that surpassed my expectations. He won’t do the work for you, and that’s essential to creating a sincere story that addresses what adcoms are looking for. I also found the team performing interview prep both honest and invaluable and was able to use their advice across multiple schools. I’m extremely pleased with my decision to work with Scott and recommend him to any candidate, especially those that are new or have little experience to the application process.
I hired Scott after I spoke to a few consultants, some of them even suggested me to not apply with 3 years of work experience. However, Scott took on the challenge to help me build my story. He spent a considerable amount of time getting to know me and then drafting the story with me. He was extremely honest (a MUST quality in a consultant). He helped me optimize my school selection process, pushed me to give GMAT again to improve my score, and helped me get into 3 schools of my choice. I would definitely recommend him for the MBA application journey.
Scott is a true professional who has been in this business for over a decade. He knows what he is doing and he will work with you one-on-one throughout the entire process. His expertise will give you an extra edge in your application that fully justifies the cost – and then some.
For some background on my experience, I am a non-traditional applicant. I needed help giving my profile credibility. I wanted the adcoms to know that I could succeed in business school and that I would be able to get a good job afterward. I believe that Scott helped me successfully get that message across. I was accepted to all schools to which I applied, one with a full-tuition fellowship.
If you’re going to hire a consultant, hire Scott. Hands down, he was the most straightforward and helpful of the 10+ consultants I spoke with on the phone for initial intro calls. He also always kept his word and was very responsive, kind, and fair. I was hesitant to hire a consultant at first, but after speaking with him (and meeting him in person at an MBA fair – a huge plus, as he does speaking engagements across the country), I knew I had made the right choice. From day 1, Scott was a value add and clearly very smart, and really helped me craft the best possible version of my story. He will not do the work for you but will guide you towards your best work product and help your authentic voice shine through, which is really the best you can ask for in an admissions consultant! He also was super helpful in continuing to offer his support even after I was admitted to my dream school and looking for pre-MBA internships.
Highly recommend Scott – best admissions consultant in the business!
I chose Scott after talking with a few different admissions consultants during free 30min profile discussions. I chose Scott for two reasons. First, he was the only person I spoke with that understood and got my Pre-MBA story. Second, I liked the fact that he was the one I spoke to in the beginning, but would also be who I would work with the whole time. He owns the company but is also your direct contact and who you work with the whole time.
Scott was really straightforward and helpful during the entire process. He was brutally honest and made me really think about why I wanted to do this which helped me craft a better story. I really felt like he was with me the whole way and truly cared about my success. I ended up getting into my top choice school and if I had to do it over, I would 100% go with Scott!
Yes it’s possible to work on your applications yourself and to just ask your friends and family to help edit your essays but why not set yourself up for the best chance by hiring a professional admissions consultant who will help guide you through the entire process?
Like most, I was initially hesitant about hiring a consultant. But after my first introductory call with Scott, I knew I had to work with him. Having been out of school for ~4 years, I was a little rusty with my writing but Scott continued to push me and I was able to write compelling essays for my applications. I also really appreciated the quick turnaround between all of the edits. The mock interviews that Scott helps set up with former MBA interviewers were also extremely helpful and helped me be more confident for my actual interviews.
Out of the 5 schools I applied to, I’ve been accepted into 1 with a decently sized scholarship, waitlisted at another, and I’m waiting to hear back from 2. Obviously hoping for some more good news down the road but it’s nice to have 1 admit so far and I wholeheartedly attribute this success to Scott and Personal MBA Coach!
Before deciding to work with Scott I interviewed 5 or 6 other consultants. Ultimately, I decided to go with Scott for two reasons 1. I wanted to know the person who I was going to be working with and 2. He promised me that he would be brutally honest with his feedback. Working with Scott was a pleasure, he helped frame my story and provided very personalized and tailored feedback. He held true to his word and gave very honest feedback that pushed me to produce better essays. We applied to five schools and I was rejected from two and waitlisted at 3, not the ideal result we were hoping for. Scott helped me game plan for the waitlist and continued to work with me as I provided updates to the schools. Ultimately got into one of the three I was waitlisted at and dropped the rest. I could not have done it without Scott.
I got to work early on my MBA applications (maybe a little too early), but Scott was incredibly supportive and helpful all the way through. He was always available to discuss my application and provided candid and insightful advice. I worked with Scott on applications to Columbia, UVA Darden, and Duke Fuqua. I was admitted to Columbia and Darden and received an interview with Fuqua. The MBA application process is stressful enough as it is, but Scott helped to streamline everything and gave me peace of mind; I don’t think I would’ve had as much success without Scott’s help. If you’re looking for an MBA coach, and I suggest that you do, I fully recommend Scott and the rest of the team at Personal MBA Coach.
After searching around for a few consultants, I immediately knew Scott was the right one for me due to his no BS approach. Throughout the daunting process, Scott kept me honest and disciplined and was very responsive. Despite being in an over-represented demographic with average stats, I was able to gain admission to a top school! Scott really challenges you and helps you craft your story, even if you don’t think you have much of one when you first start the process. Highly recommend without any hesitation!
I highly recommend Scott if you are looking for an MBA Consultant. He is very knowledgeable, very easy to get in touch with, and understands your profile well and which schools would be a good fit. Interview coaching is also extremely helpful.
I talked to about 10 admissions consultants before I decided and Scott clearly stood out – extremely professional and very nice to talk to. Also, his model of working together directly with the CEO / Founder of the consultancy while paying a below-market rate was very attractive to me. The decision turned out to be a great one! Scott got me into Berkeley (my dream school) and Wharton and I’m not sure whether I would have managed this without him. He was very responsive (usually 24 hours), always there to help and made my essays better through editing and pointing me in the right direction in terms of what to write. I would definitely recommend Scott and would always work together with him again. Certainly one of the best in the business!
MBA application is a daunting process, especially for someone like me, whose GMAT and background do not stand out (perhaps even slightly below average). Scott takes the time to get to know me and my story and used a customized approach to help me navigate through the process. I could not have done gotten into my dream program (top 10) without Scott! I think the key to my admission is his essay guidance: he really drilled down into my essays and think through my story, helping me articulate the “Why?” and the “How?”. Scott is extremely patient and he always answers my questions in a very timely manner – such a pleasure to work with!
As I began the process, I took advantage of 30min free consultations that most MBA Admissions Consultants offer. After speaking with a handful, Scott stood out from the rest with his candor and willingness to construct an individualized, customized approach to each application. Fast forward to today, and I am ecstatic with the results. Despite being a younger applicant, Scott helped me construct a holistic application that eventually allowed me to gain admission to Booth. Throughout the process, he was consistently responsive to each of my requests, kept me on pace to hit deadlines with step by step assistance, and provided ample resources to ensure preparedness for the interviews. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to increase their chances of admission. He is the best!
