Working with Richard was an incredible experience, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He was responsive, understood exactly what I was looking for, and helped me articulate my goals in a way that made my application stronger. He also suggested programs I had not considered, opening up possibilities I would have otherwise overlooked. Thanks to his guidance, I received an incredibly generous scholarship, which I am so grateful. The application process was stressful enough on its own, but knowing Richard was there every step of the way gave me so much reassurance and confidence. I am incredibly grateful for his guidance, expertise, and genuine investment in my success, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone navigating the application process.
Working with MJ throughout my MBA application journey was an absolute game-changer. Coming from a highly competitive professional background, I knew I needed to carefully differentiate my profile. MJ was instrumental in helping me weave my past experiences into a cohesive, compelling narrative.
She didn’t just help with tactical essay edits; she served as a true sounding board as I crystallized my post-MBA goals. MJ was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and honest, providing the exact kind of actionable feedback I needed to refine my story while ensuring my authentic voice always came through.
Thanks to her exceptional guidance and partnership, I was admitted to my top-choice program with a clear vision for my next steps. I cannot recommend MJ highly enough to anyone looking for a dedicated, insightful, and results-driven admissions consultant.
I worked with Scott Edinburgh at Personal MBA Coach throughout my MBA application process, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Scott was instrumental in helping me put together an application that ultimately led to my acceptance at Wharton.
What I appreciated most was how personalized the process was. Scott took the time to really understand my background, experiences, and what I wanted to accomplish after business school. Rather than trying to force my story into a standard MBA application framework, he helped me figure out which parts of my experience were genuinely differentiated and how to communicate them effectively.
Scott was particularly valuable on the essays. His feedback was direct and thoughtful, and he consistently pushed me to go a level deeper when something felt generic or didn’t fully explain the “why” behind my story. At the same time, he made sure the final essays still sounded like me rather than something written by an admissions consultant.
He was also a great resource throughout the broader process—from school strategy and positioning to interview preparation. Having someone who knew the process so well and could give candid feedback at every stage was extremely valuable.
I had a great experience working with Scott and would absolutely recommend him to anyone applying to a top MBA program.
Scott was an amazing consultant. I got into 9/9 schools I got accepted to and ultimately went to Ross. He made this process exceptionally easy and provided me with all of the necessary resources.
Scott is very in tune with the current meta at each school. His processes are extremely thorough and will absolutely keep you on track with high quality guidance and critiques.
I had a great experience working with Scott Edinburg at Personal MBA Coach throughout my MBA application process. Coming from a non-traditional background, I wasn’t always sure how to best position my experience or tell a cohesive story. Scott took the time to understand my background and goals and helped me identify the experiences that would resonate most with admissions committees.
His feedback on my essays was thoughtful, direct, and helped me tell my story in a way that felt both compelling and authentic. He was also incredibly helpful with overall application strategy and interview preparation. I’m very grateful for Scott’s guidance and would highly recommend working with him!
Scott and MJ made the process so much easier for me than it would have been otherwise. They helped me crystallize my story, and express it in a way that highlighted my unique strengths. Beyond the mba application work, they also helped me navigate career moves throughout the process and gave me some advice that I still think back to to this day
I applied to my MBA program several years ago, and would highly recommend working with Scott. He helped me from the very beginning from GMAT/GRE prep, resume work, essays, and interviews. He and his team were so committed to my process, and as a result I was accepted into several of my top choice schools and received scholarship opportunities. I recommended him to all of my friends who started their MBA application process after me.
I worked with Scott to help me gain admission to one of the five universities I had targeted. As an international student, I was initially worried about the process—what was required, what was realistic, and which schools made the most sense given my goal of working in investment banking after the MBA.
From start to finish, the entire process with Scott was seamless. He helped me narrow down the five programs that best aligned with my objectives and guided me through the strategy for my essays. In the end, I received the acceptance letter I was hoping for. Now, in my second year of the MBA, I have a signed return offer from one of the top banks in New York City.
Beyond all of that, what I appreciated most was how he helped me develop my personal story. That was a genuinely self‑revealing process that benefited me both during the MBA and afterward.
Being an international student with very unique experience, I needed someone to craft my story. Working with Scott was one of the best decisions I made during my application process. Him, together with the Personal MBA Coach team, were able to brilliantly paint the picture and motivate my fit. I am excited to share I got accepted into one of my dream schools. Scott has great, direct relationships with admissions directors that other firms don’t necessarily have. His team is also equipped with great editors and consultants giving direct and honest feedback, enabling me to really paint the best picture of my story. His mock interview process with seasoned veterans from top schools is something I found particularly useful. All in all, Scott is a great guy to work with. His friendliness and care combined with his passion and experience truly made him the perfect fit for my MBA journey.
Richard was an outstanding partner throughout my Executive MBA application process. I connected with him after an earlier consulting engagement unexpectedly ended, and he quickly assessed where I was, created structure, and got the process moving again without forcing me to start over.
Richard brought a strong point of view built from his long experience in the space, but he was also open to my feedback when I challenged some initial recommendations. We were able to marry the parts of my story I felt were important with the framing and positioning that would resonate with admissions teams, while still making sure my applications were authentically me.
He was also extremely responsive and organized. Action items were clear, turnaround was fast, and the systems and tools he used made it easy to manage multiple schools, essays, recommendations, and deadlines.
The results were strong: I was admitted to Kellogg, MIT Sloan, and EMBA-Global at Columbia/London Business School, with scholarship offers.
I would recommend Richard without hesitation, especially to experienced professionals who need help turning a complex career and personal story into a clear, differentiated, and compelling application.
I worked with Scott during my MBA application process in 2020 and appreciated his guidance and support throughout. He helped me navigate the process and strengthen my applications, and I was ultimately admitted to several great programs, including London Business School. I am grateful for his help and would recommend him to prospective MBA applicants.
I worked with MJ for interview prep for UCLA Anderson, including a full mock interview, and had a great experience. She was incredibly helpful throughout the process and gave me thoughtful, specific feedback on both the substance of my answers and how I was presenting them. She helped me identify where I could be more concise, where I needed to add more detail, and how to better communicate my story and reasons for pursuing an MBA.
The mock interview was especially valuable because it gave me a chance to practice in a realistic setting and work through some of the questions I was most concerned about ahead of time. I went into my actual interview feeling much more prepared and confident as a result. I had not done any interviewing in a few years and was extremely rusty, and she helped get me up to speed and comfortable with the process.
In the end, I was admitted to UCLA Anderson, which was the school I sought her help with, and received a $100K scholarship. I’m extremely happy with the outcome and would absolutely recommend MJ to anyone looking for MBA interview prep!!
MJ was so helpful throughout the application process, especially on developing clear goals and refining them into essay prompts! As a non-traditional MBA applicant, the advice was incredibly helpful and the timelines outlined made sure I was prepared well in advance of all deadlines. The only area that could have been better was interview prep, but even that was still helpful and helped me a lot. Would definitely recommend!
I worked with Scott Edinburg at Personal MBA Coach throughout my MBA application process, and I’m incredibly grateful for his guidance and support. I was ultimately admitted to Wharton, and Scott played an important role in helping me put together the strongest application possible.
What I appreciated most about Scott was how personalized his approach was. He took the time to really understand my background, career journey, goals, and the story I wanted to tell. Rather than simply telling me what admissions committees wanted to hear, he helped me identify what was distinctive about my own experiences and communicate it in an authentic and compelling way.
Scott was especially helpful with my essays. His feedback was thoughtful, candid, and detailed, and he consistently challenged me to go deeper and make my writing more focused and impactful. He also helped me think strategically about the application as a whole so that my essays, resume, recommendations, and interview all told a consistent story.
Throughout the process, Scott was responsive, encouraging, and genuinely invested in my success. Applying to business school can be stressful, and having someone with his experience and judgment in my corner made a significant difference.
I would highly recommend Scott and Personal MBA Coach to anyone serious about putting together their best possible MBA application. I’m very thankful for his help in getting me to Wharton.
I worked closely with Scott in 2022 as I reapplied to Wharton and Kellogg. Scott provided candid, honest feedback about where my application had fallen short the year prior and what I needed to do to strengthen my candidate profile. He provided the structure and candor I needed to be successful. Beyond the traditional coaching sessions, resume reviews, and essay refinement, the interview practice sessions were exceptionally valuable. The ability to work directly with prior admissions team members and fellow applicants enabled me to thrive in team-based discussions. I was thrilled to receive admission to Wharton, join the class of 2024, and count my years there among the most formative of my life.
MJ’s deep admissions knowledge was critical in shaping my MBA strategy. Her tireless work ethic and professionalism showed in every session. She is remarkably kind and kept the entire process focused. I strongly recommend working with her.
From the start, MJ was honest about what I needed to do to succeed and helped me turn what could have been just a collection of experiences into a story that felt uniquely mine. She also helped me connect my experiences and goals into a narrative that was both coherent and authentic. What really stood out was MJ’s ability to see the nuances and help me understand how to approach each application strategically, tailoring my essays to what each school was looking for rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I started this process feeling unsure about how to position my non-traditional background, and I finished with a much clearer understanding of what makes my background unique, how to communicate it, and where I want to go next. I received multiple interviews and acceptances, and I’m incredibly grateful to MJ for helping me get there. I would recommend MJ and Personal MBA Coach without hesitation to any of my friends looking for an honest, thoughtful, and strategic MBA admissions consultant.
I worked with Scott and team for my essays and interview. I never wrote any formal admission essay in my life. So, this was a learning for me. Scott has been very patient helping with editing my drafts till they were worthy to be sent. Similarly, I had good number of mock interviews, which immensely helped me with my personal interview rounds. We pushed each other at every level for the best output. We also worked on the probable list of schools for my profile. Ultimately, our approach worked quite well. I ended up with admission from NUS Business School for my full time MBA. Thank you Scott and team once again.
Working with Scott and his team was a great experience. I was lost throughout the admission process, so having their guidance and support was extremely helpful. They made sure that I was prepared for every step of the process, but gave me enough room to tell my own story, rather than engineering a repetitive product or story. I am very thankful for their help, especially for the essay portion, which could include more than 10 revisions for a single school. I would highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone, and have already been doing so for my friends and family.
Worked with Scott for my MBA apps and got into Haas. What stood out was how structured he was. He kept a tracker for every school and essay, so nothing slipped through the cracks. Turnaround on essay reviews was fast, usually a day or two, which mattered a lot when deadlines stacked up. He also pushed back on my initial school list and helped me pick schools where my profile actually fit instead of just spraying applications. Would recommend without hesitation.
After working with a big-name MBA admissions firm and having such an underwhelming—and expensive—experience that I ultimately parted ways with them, I was feeling pretty defeated. I reached out to Scott, explained my situation, and he immediately gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed to continue the process.
Most applicants probably don’t have the experience of working with two different firms and therefore such a direct point of comparison, but I can say with complete certainty that my experience with Scott was top-tier and light-years better than the first. He has a calm, direct, and reassuring demeanor, and he is truly an expert at what he does.
I was ultimately admitted to both of my target programs—Booth and Kellogg—and received scholarships from both. I attribute those outcomes, and the strength of my applications, in large part to Scott and his team. I could not recommend them more highly.
Richard helped me develop a compelling MBA narrative that stayed consistent from my application through the interview. He was an incredible resource during interview prep, helping me build strong stories for likely questions and identify school-specific talking points that really resonated. The MBA process is tough, but working with Richard made it feel so much more manageable. With Richard’s help, I was accepted into one of my top MBA choices with a full scholarship.
Working with Scott and his team was seamless from start to finish. The entire process is structured with precision—every team member executed their role flawlessly, and all milestones and deliverables were completed right on schedule. Beyond the strategic advice, what stood out most was how effectively they kept me disciplined and on track throughout a stressful process. Whenever I had a question or needed guidance, the support was immediate and thorough. I couldn’t have asked for a better team in my corner.
Scott will work directly with you on your application from day one. I didn’t want to hire a consulting company that does good marketing, I wanted to work with an expert consultant. I wanted help from an expert, and all I can say is I wouldn’t have gone to Wharton without his and his team’s help.
I worked with Scott on my MBA applications and can recommend his services. He helped me take what felt like a pretty scattered set of experiences and turn it into a clear, compelling story. He was responsive, direct with feedback, and always willing to push me a little further when he knew there was a better way to tell the story. Going through the MBA process can be a lot, but having someone who really knows the admissions landscape made a huge difference. I’m confident my application was much stronger because of his guidance, and I’d recommend him to anyone applying to business school.
Working with Richard throughout the deferred MBA admissions process was a great experience! He helped me clarify my story, strengthen my applications, and was always thoughtful and responsive whenever I had questions. The most valuable part for me was his interview prep. His mock interviews were challenging, realistic, and gave me feedback that made me feel much more confident going into the real interviews. He provided me materials that helped me workshop answers to common questions. With Richard’s help, I was accepted to an M7 deferred MBA program. I would definitely recommend him to anyone applying through the deferred admissions process.
Richard was my consultant for my deferred MBA applications to M7 programs. From our first meeting, he took the time to understand my background and helped me build a more coherent story for my applications, especially in strengthening my reason for applying for an MBA. Richard also helped me prepare for interviews by challenging me with different types of questions and offering feedback, which made me feel more confident going into the real thing. With his help, I received acceptances into several M7 schools, including my top choice. Richard was very thoughtful and kind throughout the process, and was always open to answering my questions and making time to meet. I had a great experience working with Richard and would definitely recommend him to others applying to MBA schools through deferred admission.
Working with Richard during the past admissions cycle was a joy! He really helped me organize myself as applications and other deadlines came due, and helped me refine my story and the reasons for pursuing an MBA more clearly. He was also a pleasure to work with as he is kind and caring toward his students and really wants to see them succeed. Would recommend working with Richard to anyone!
Working with MJ throughout my MBA application process was an incredible experience. From the beginning, she made the process feel highly personalized and supportive, and I never felt like just another applicant. She took the time to really understand my background, experiences, and goals, which made a huge difference in helping me craft an authentic and compelling story.
MJ was especially valuable not only in brainstorming and refining essay ideas, but also in helping me think strategically about my long-term career goals and overall direction. Our conversations often went beyond just the applications themselves and genuinely helped me gain more clarity and confidence in my future path.
She was thoughtful, encouraging, honest, and incredibly responsive throughout the process. Combined with the broader support team, I always felt like I had people truly invested in my success. I’m very grateful for her guidance and thrilled to say that I was accepted to all of my Round 1 schools with scholarships. I would highly recommend MJ to anyone looking for a supportive and strategic MBA admissions consultant.
I worked with Scott Edinburg at Personal MBA Coach throughout my application cycle, and I’m thrilled to say I’ll be heading to Wharton this fall. I wanted to share my experience because Scott genuinely made the difference between a good application and one that stood out. From our very first conversation, Scott took the time to understand my background, my career goals, and what made me tick. He didn’t try to fit me into a generic template — instead, he helped me identify the specific stories and angles that would resonate with adcoms. His feedback on my essays was incredibly sharp: he pushed me to dig deeper when my drafts were surface-level, and he had a great instinct for when something was working versus when I needed to rethink the framing. A few things that stood out about working with Scott: School selection strategy. He gave me honest, data-driven advice about where I was competitive and where I should stretch. No false hope, no underselling — just a clear-eyed read on my profile. Essay coaching. He challenged me to be more specific and more authentic. By the final drafts, the essays actually sounded like me — but the best, most polished version of me. Interview prep. Our mock interviews were rigorous. He drilled me on the questions I least wanted to answer, which made the real Wharton interview feel manageable. Responsiveness. Scott was always reachable, even when I was sending him essay drafts at odd hours. He treated my application like it actually mattered to him. If you’re on the fence about working with a consultant, or trying to decide between firms, I can say without reservation that Scott and Personal MBA Coach were worth every penny. Wharton was my dream school, and I’m not sure I would have gotten in without his guidance. Highly, highly recommend.
I had a great experience working with The Personal MBA team, especially Scott Edinburgh, during my application process.
Scott was thoughtful, strategic, and highly professional throughout the journey. He challenged my thinking, helped refine my narrative, and provided valuable guidance in articulating my professional experiences and long-term vision in a compelling way.
What stood out most was the level of personal attention and genuine commitment throughout the process. I highly recommend The Personal MBA to professionals applying to top-tier graduate programs.
Thank you again to Scott and the entire team for the guidance.
I had a great experience working with Personal MBA Coach, especially with Scott. He was thoughtful, direct, and extremely helpful throughout the MBA application process. What stood out most was his ability to quickly understand my background, identify the strongest parts of my story, and help me present them in a clear and compelling way.
Scott provided honest feedback, pushed me to improve my essays and overall positioning, and made the process feel much more manageable. With his guidance, I was admitted to 3 top MBA programs I applied to and received scholarship offers as well. I would highly recommend Scott and Personal MBA Coach to anyone looking for structured, strategic, and high-quality MBA admissions support.
I really enjoyed working with Scott and his team! Communication was fast and efficient, especially during the essay editing process, which helped keep all my applications on track. The brainstorming sessions I had directly with Scott were incredibly insightful and helped me develop a much stronger and more cohesive narrative. With the support of Personal MBA Coach, I was admitted to top M7 MBA programs. I’d highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone looking for responsive, thoughtful, and highly effective MBA admissions guidance.
Because I was many years out of school, I did not feel confident at all when applying to programs. Scott was the one who very directly said I should aim for a school that I thought was beyond my reach. After working with him and his team, I got into my reach school with a scholarship, which I didn’t think was possible.
If you’ve made the decision to apply for your MBA, I highly recommend choosing Personal MBA Coach as your consultant.
One of the more difficult pieces of the process was creating my story of “Why MBA? Why Now?” (something every program has heavily emphasized). Working personally with Scott to form that narrative was one of the best decisions I made. He had great insights into what would resonate with the different schools I applied to and had no reservations in letting me know which of my ideas he thought would work and which wouldn’t.
The application process itself is a long and overwhelming process, so having them provide a structured framework for managing your essays, letters of recommendation, and other tasks was invaluable for me.
When it came time for interviews, they provided practice interviewers with experiences uniquely suited to the schools I was applying to. Their relevant and direct feedback was instrumental in my success in those interviews.
I can safely say that my success in my application process was, in part, attributable to Personal MBA’s Coach’s help. If you’re on the fence about bringing a consultant on board, I would recommend scheduling an initial consultation.
Going to a t15 with merit! I especially appreciated the structured process as a former student athlete who hadn’t gone through a formal admission process previously.
When I started the MBA application process I knew I wanted an MBA but had no idea how to get there. I couldn’t be happier that I chose Scott and his team. They helped me find direction, tell my story, and thanks to their guidance I was admitted to schools I never thought possible.
Honestly, I was super overwhelmed when I started the MBA application process and didn’t really know where to begin. Scott helped me figure out which schools to target, how to tell my story through my essays, and how to actually feel prepared going into interviews.
What stood out to me was just how much he knows. He’s not giving you generic advice, he actually understands what programs are looking for and helps you connect the dots between your experience and what they want to see.
I got into my target school and I really do think working with Scott made the difference. If you’re thinking about hiring a consultant, just do it.
Scott helped me get into my dream program and I got in everywhere I interviewed. I am extremely grateful and couldn’t recommend him more to everyone.
I recently worked with Richard throughout the most recent admissions cycle and found it to be a pleasure. He truly cares about his clients’ success and is driven, kind, and responsive with them. Furthermore, he always makes time for his clients whenever they need to speak with him about specific topics and provides solid, reliable advice throughout the process. With Richard’s help, I was able to get into my #1 choice school. Would highly recommend!
I couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach. They provided valuable structure to help me manage the application timeline, offered clear insight into what admissions committees value most, and delivered thoughtful, actionable feedback throughout the process.
The team was especially helpful in identifying which experiences best fit each prompt and refining how I told my story to highlight my background effectively. Their guidance was instrumental in strengthening my essays and presenting my candidacy in the strongest possible light, while ensuring my voice was never lost. I couldn’t recommend PMC enough.
My MBA admissions outcomes were incredibly successful – I was accepted by 7/8 schools I applied to. I am extremely confident that much of my success was due to my investment in Personal MBA Coach.
Erin was supportive, creative, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. Her attention to detail, especially in helping me craft an authentic story that truly resonated with admissions committees, was invaluable. Personal MBA Coach is absolutely worth every penny!!
I got into all the schools I applied to because of MJ’s counsel, including my dream school, Wharton. She walked me through the whole process, which I quickly learned was quite the process. MJ has the background and experience to do this job well.
Scott Edinburgh and the Personal MBA Coach team were the best decision I made during my application process. Scott’s guidance was strategic, direct, and focused on what actually moves an admissions decision. He brought program-specific insight that’s hard to find on your own, including how admissions readers interpret certain choices and what to emphasize or cut so each essay aligns with what that school values. He helped me clarify my story, remove fluff, and back every claim with evidence, so every draft became tighter, clearer, and more “me.”
What I valued most was how actionable the feedback was. Scott didn’t just say “make this stronger,” he showed exactly what to change and why, and he kept me on track with a structured plan and deadlines. The PhD-level editor on his team made the writing process smooth by sharpening structure and clarity while protecting my voice. If you want an honest advisor with sharp instincts and a process that works, I recommend Scott without hesitation.
Richard helped me build an actionable timeline to achieve my MBA admissions goals. Throughout the process, he asked probing questions that pushed me to craft my story more effectively. After shaping my narrative, the Personal MBA Coach essay and resume team provided multiple rounds of detailed feedback, which helped refine my essays and strengthen my overall application. I was ultimately accepted to two M7 programs with scholarship. The structure and guidance I received played a meaningful role in that outcome.
MJ was fantastic! I applied to three MBA programs in Round 1 and was admitted to all three with substantial scholarships. She was instrumental in helping me craft a cohesive and compelling story for my applications and played a huge role in clarifying both my short- and long-term career goals. At times, she truly felt like both a career coach and an MBA consultant in one.
MJ was always readily available, guided me seamlessly through each step of the process, and helped ease the stress that naturally comes with applications. Her support made me feel confident and grounded throughout.
I spoke with several MBA consulting firms and ultimately chose Personal MBA Coach because of their structured approach—having a dedicated consultant, an editor, and Scott overseeing the process. That structure worked incredibly well. MJ helped with strategy and brainstorming, my editor ensured my ideas came through clearly, and Scott provided high-level guidance throughout. With so many thoughtful touchpoints, I genuinely felt supported by a team invested in my success.
Scott Edinburgh at Personal MBA Coach was outstanding. His advice was strategic, efficient, and focused on what actually matters. With his guidance, I was accepted into the Wharton Executive MBA. I highly recommend him to anyone targeting top MBA or EMBA programs.
Scott and Personal MBA are the right choice. They know the admissions game, how to highlight your strengths as an applicant, reflect them in your essays and interview, and tell a cohesive story. But even more impressively, their strong instincts come through every time you speak with them (shoutout Andrew), which minimizes any worries and doubts you’d have applying to school on your own. Personal MBA helped me get into competitive dual MBA/MS programs at multiple M7s, and I could not be happier.
I ended up working with MJ for my bschool applications a couple years ago, and she was excellent. I originally chose her because I hoped to get into Wharton (and she had specific expertise with Wharton), and she helped me get into 5 of my 7 schools (Wharton, Tuck, Booth, Kellogg, and Sloan) with ~400k combined scholarships and multiple Forte Fellowships.
When selecting an MBA consultant, consider what style of consulting you would prefer. MJ was great in helping me develop a cohesive story, brainstorming, and answering any question I had. Then my editor helped me make sure I was conveying these ideas well. I was also in touch with Scott at a higher level throughout the entire process. Overall with so many touchpoint, I felt like I had a community supporting me.
I’ve loved Wharton so far and am very happy with my decision to go with MJ from Personal MBA Coach!
