Looking back on my MBA application journey, I can say with certainty that the best decision I made was to hire Personal MBA Coach. I was by no means an easy client. My testing saga ended up taking much longer than expected, and because of this, I ended up working with Scott and the team through R1 and R2. They never complained. While other firms I initially reached out to would not provide the flexibility for me to start working with them while still working through the testing, Scott had no problem with it. He also promised that I would have direct access to him, instead of someone who worked for him, as many of the other firms had arranged. After finally getting a strong test score under my belt, I was left with about a month to complete all of my applications. While Scott and the team typically recommend and request that the essays be near completion at this stage, they worked through each draft with me up until the final deadlines. There were countless drafts and emails exchanged between us. They answered every nitpicky question that I had in a timely fashion, even during the holidays. When it came time to interview, Scott set me up with his interviewing experts, who thoroughly prepared me for each interview. I ended up getting into every single school that I applied to with many full rides, and am now in the position to choose between Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. Detailed feedback: I am a female candidate from India with a GMAT of 750 and wanted to get into one of either Harvard, Stanford or Wharton. I researched multiple consultants to work with and spoke with all of them, and finally zeroed down on Scott from Personal MBA Coach. A key reason for me to choose to work with Scott was the fact he individually had a great success rate and that I get to directly work with him, unlike other firms where there were multiple consultants and there was the ambiguity of whether I will get a good consultant.

Scott gives great clarity on how to approach the application tailored for each school, while also offering flexibility on the overall approach. For example, I had taken the 6 school package but hadn’t finalized on which schools to apply. Given the lofty target of HSW, I wanted to cover my base by applying to a couple of other schools with better admit chances. I took a sudden decision to apply to CBS within a week of the deadline in round 1. Scott was completely understanding and helped me put together a great application in a short span of time, and I got an admit!

Scott’s style of working is a bit different from what I am used to, as after the initial analysis call, our entire communication was completely on email. Since he personally works with all of his clients, this time crunch is to be expected. While it took me some time to get used to it, we were effectively able to work with each other on all applications to my satisfaction. He is was very responsive and ensured he got back within 2 days for all communications, irrespective of whether it was weekends or holidays. He makes the entire process simple and less complicated, which resulted in me being able to apply to 6 schools with time to spare (with some other consultants I spoke with, they said the process is so complicated that I can at max target 4 schools). The ability to apply to multiple schools reduced the risk of not getting admitted in any, and hence reduced the pressure on me.

His clear insight on what each schools want helped me crack London Business School, Columbia Business School and Wharton. Though I would have loved if I had cracked Stanford and Harvard as well, I wouldn’t have been able to have the success I have had without Scott’s guidance.

I really enjoyed working with Scott on my application. He was very honest and straight-forward. His turnaround time was super quick and he provided a lot of insight into the behind the scenes thoughts that the Ad Com may have. I would 100% recommend.

I spoke to a few consultants before deciding on Scott. He was immediately upfront about his package as well as his approach to getting you what you want. I was able to speak openly about what I wanted from my MBA as well as what I expected from working with him. I had interviewed a few coaches and instantly felt the connection with Scott. I was skeptical of working with a consultant but after meeting Scott at an MBA fair, I decided to work with him after speaking with several references who also provided glowing reviews. Coming from consulting, I knew that the pools of MBA applicants were strong, and I really wanted to give myself the best shot at the programs I was interested in and not have to re-apply. I knew I had lots of stories I wanted to tell, but Scott helped me hone and sharpen my personal narrative in a way I don’t think I would have pushed myself to do. My dream comes true. Scott is the best MBA consultant. I could only prepare my EMBA application 4 weeks before the R2 application deadline. Some other consultants said it was not possible, but Scott said, “IT IS DOABLE. Let’s do it.” Scott was resourceful, diligent, and honest throughout the application process. He has an amazing EA teacher, Marissa, that help me acquire the skills necessary to tackle the EA exam with a decent score. Without working with him and his team, I would have never admitted to the Wharton EMBA program – the only EMBA program that I apply in 2020.

After speaking to several admissions consultants, I got the feeling that working with Scott would be the right decision. I was correct. During the early stages of my search, I spoke with several admission consultants – many of whom worked for and promised the benefits which came under a larger organization. There were several hurdles I faced when applying to MBA programs: (1) I have below-average stats for M7 schools (quite far below), (2) I am a non-traditional candidate with an impact-focused background and no “recognizable companies” on my resume, (3) I tend to overthink my written communication/essays and sabotage myself. Scott helped me overcome all three. I knew that to highlight my nontraditional background in a way that would help overcome my stats and to avoid overthinking this process, I would need some third party, expert help. I ended up choosing Scott because he was direct, professional, humble, and concise in our first communication and maintained this approach throughout our time working together. For some background on my experience, I am a non-traditional applicant. I needed help giving my profile credibility. I chose Scott after talking with a few different admissions consultants during free 30min profile discussions. I chose Scott for two reasons. First, he was the only person I spoke with that understood and got my Pre-MBA story. Second, I liked the fact that he was the one I spoke to in the beginning, but would also be who I would work with the whole time. He owns the company but is also your direct contact and who you work with the whole time.

Scott was really straightforward and helpful during the entire process. He was brutally honest and made me really think about why I wanted to do this which helped me craft a better story. Like most, I was initially hesitant about hiring a consultant. But after my first introductory call with Scott, I knew I had to work with him. Having been out of school for ~4 years, I was a little rusty with my writing but Scott continued to push me and I was able to write compelling essays for my applications. I also really appreciated the quick turnaround between all of the edits. Before deciding to work with Scott I interviewed 5 or 6 other consultants. Ultimately, I decided to go with Scott for two reasons 1. I wanted to know the person who I was going to be working with and 2. He promised me that he would be brutally honest with his feedback. Scott was an absolutely amazing resource throughout the application process. When I first started working with Scott I hadn’t hit my desired GMAT/GRE score and he was up front and candid about what was realistic considering my score at that time. I started with Scott a month out from the final deadline for my dream program and, despite the short timeframe, we were able to put together a solid application, ace the interview, and get in. It wasn’t easy, but if you’re serious about getting into the best MBA program you can it would be silly to go at it alone. The investment in your future is worth it.

I have been a Round 2 Wharton applicant for its prestigious full-time MBA program for the class of 2021. With a 720 on the GMAT, I thought my chances of getting into Wharton would be highly bleak. But I didn’t want to let go off the possibility of being admitted to Wharton and hold a regret throughout my life of not trying. To my surprise, I received an interview call and without any delay, I started preparing for the Team-Based Discussion and 10 min personal interview. That’s when I came in touch with Scott. Scott helped me navigate the unusual interview format, including the TBD. Realizing that I would need practice for the TBD, I enrolled in one mock TBD session with personal MBA coach. The session was extremely helpful and I requested for another session. Although all upcoming sessions were fully booked, Scott made an exception and helped me enroll in one the same night. Thanking the services of Personalmbacoach, I went for my TBD and PI. I believe I did fairly well, and through my preparation, I was in much better shape than I would have been had I not opted for the services. I remember receiving a lot of feedback after my mock TBD sessions from the trainer. I wish I had come across Personal MBA coach in the early start of my applications. Nevertheless, I would strongly recommend Personal MBA coach for their interview services. I have been waitlisted to the program, and hopefully (fingers crossed) I can still make it from here.

I engaged with Scott quite last minute for a US Top 5 program. Previous to working with him, I was already invited for interviews at several Top 5 schools, but got dinged post-interview. Scott was quick to identify the missing gaps and provide extremely thorough and individualized feedback on my application.

I am currently a college senior. I’ve worked with Scott to apply for 6 MBA programs that have early admission/ deferral program. Now I have been accepted to one school and waiting for results on others. For the school I’ve been accepted, I also got half tuition which totally paid off the consultancy fees. First of all, since I am a younger applicant, I was essentially writing on my goals after 4 years (2 years of deferral period and then 2 years of MBA). Sometimes due to work/school situations, my responses were delayed. However, Scott always provides a new edit within 2 days. When the deadline is close, he would help me do one draft a day for a couple of essays. For a lot of the essays, he would push me to dive deeper into what I wanted to express. There were some essays that we had over 10 drafts.

Third, he also gave me a lot of help on interviews. Since I haven’t done interviews for a while and English is also not my first language, Scott gave me extra interview help by scheduling mock interviews for me to practice with some schools’ ex-interviewers.

I am an Indian male applicant with a high GMAT score but a profile that’s not very conventional (business degree in undergrad -> real estate strategy work ex). None of the firms on my resume were ‘feeder firms’ and hence while researching for MBA consultants, I got mixed responses about my prospects (one of the biggest MBA consulting firms in the US told me to apply to schools outside of the top-15 and to Cambridge Judge and below). Scott was one of the few consultants who fit the bill in more than one aspect: he boosted my confidence starting with our introductory call (encouraging me to apply to certain aspirational schools, cautioning against a couple), and since Scott’s is a boutique firm, I was assured that I will be working with the same person throughout the application process, rather than being matched with an advisor from a large pool, which many firms with a cookie cutter approach do.

Coming to the essays: I did 3 applications with Scott. His inputs were practical and insightful. Not once did he miss the 24-48 hours response timeline, and in most cases, his replies were extremely swift (within a couple of hours sometimes!). After a few edits, I got the grip on essays, understood what adcoms are looking for, and eventually applied to 3 more schools leveraging the learnings from my 3 applications with Scott (once you write a few, the others become much easier). I did Wharton, Kellogg and LBS apps with Ross.

Scott is an amazing consultant for my business school application. I used another consultant in my round 1 application and did not have a great experience. I decided to switch and worked with Scott in my round 2 application for four schools and got in three of them with scholarships. The long one: Since I was an Indian (read: one of the largest demographics) male (the most competitive gender) engineer (the hardest degree type to distinguish yourself in, especially when you are Indian), who was also a re-applicant with 8 years of experience, I knew it was going to be very hard to get into my dream school.

I contacted 10+ consultants and spoke to them at length to understand how they operate. Given my background, I knew that I would need someone who will understand my story properly and help me craft a unique story. After talking to a few of the major consulting firms, I realized that I needed a boutique consultant where I could deal with my consultant directly. Amongst all the boutique consultants I spoke with, I had the best connection with Scott. I liked his calm demeanor, the fact that he seemed to know the colleges well, and most importantly that he had worked with many Indians before and knew how to help them.

I realized his value while working with him on my first application itself. After we figured out my story, we exchanged a lot of drafts on bringing out the ‘why’. Scott adds detailed notes in each draft and he always responds within 48 hours. The final essays were really really good, even if I say so myself. They made so much sense and compared to the essays I had written myself during the previous application cycle, these were crystal clear. There was a perfect balance – the essays logically and clearly told the adcom what I wanted to do while bringing out the emotional angle to support why I wanted to do it. Moreover, the last aspect which is so important – the interview prep – is the best part about working with him. My mock interviews were super important in making sure that I do well on the day! In fact, without them, I am confident I would not have been nearly as good.

Lastly, if there is one thing I can say that would convince you of how good Scott is, it is this – When I took the 5 school package with him, I followed his instructions precisely for 3 schools and went with my gut for the other 2. It just so happens that I got into all the 3 where I listened to him and got rejected from the other 2. Now, I could put that down as a remarkable coincidence but after working with him over 9 months, I am inclined to believe that Scott knows what he is talking about.

I truly believe that he is the reason I am going to Wharton and I recommend if you are looking for a consultant, look no further than Scott.
