Switching to Melody/ Vantage Point midway through my MBA application process was a game-changing decision. After landing on the waitlist for both HBS and MIT Sloan with another advisor, I realized I needed someone with deeper insights and experience. Melody exceeded all expectations. Some highlights I want to share:
1. Super rich experience and insights about the top MBA programs: Melody has the deepest knowledge and insights among all the of MBA advisors i’ve talked to – details on what traits specific schools look for, examples of past successful turnarounds, what realy makes a difference etc.. Her ongoing connections with students across various MBA programs also provided me up-to-date experiences from the campuses themselves.
2. Exceptional Storytelling: As a consultant, I thought my storylining skills are already quite good. But Melody can always lift my essays to the next level. She can pinpoint the most distinctive highlights of my story, and ask the right questions that pushed me to think more deeply. The depth and authenticity of my final essays could not have been achieved without our extensive discussions and her guidance.
3. Continuous emotional Support: The most invaluable aspect of working with Melody was the emotional support she provided during the exhausting application process. Applying for an MBA was quite a tough experience for me as I don’t really have anyone to share or talk about it, and need to manage my demanding job at the same time. But Melody was always there to celebrate every win and energize me when I needed it most. I can feel that she truly wants me to succeed and wants to help as much as she could.
Choosing Melody/ Vantage Point was one of the best decisions I made on my MBA journey. And she helped me get off the waitlist with MIT Sloan. Her expertise and heartfelt support were instrumental in navigating the complexities of MBA applications. I couldn’t have asked for a better coach.
She was super responsive, very professional, and was always really insightful. The suggestions she provided in my application went well beyond internet sources and other consultants I have worked with. I found it especially helpful how she patiently and thoughtfully crafted a personalized essay narrative with me, capturing the various career changes I had during the last couple years. Vantage Point’s MBA resources were also invaluable.
With her support, I gained admission to the HBS 2+2 program and the Stanford GSB Deferred Admissions program. I cannot recommend her and the Vantage Point team highly enough!
I was introduced to Melody through a referral, and from our very first conversation, she immediately stood out as one of the most attentive and perceptive professionals I have ever encountered. Her exceptional listening skills allowed me to share my stories and background in depth, enabling her to shape my candidate profile effectively from the beginning. This ability to truly understand my unique background and profile allowed her to craft a highly personalized strategy. The results speak for themselves: I am now preparing to move to London to attend London Business School, one of the most prestigious MBA programs in the world.
Melody possesses a remarkable talent for identifying both the strengths and weaknesses of an applicant’s profile. This skill was invaluable to me, as it enabled me to position myself effectively, leveraging my strengths while addressing any potential shortcomings early on. Equally important was her unwavering responsiveness, which proved crucial in meeting the tight summer deadlines and ensuring my applications were submitted on time.
Melody’s guidance has been life-changing. I am confident that without her expertise and support, my application journey would have been far less successful. The insights and advice she provided were among the most valuable I have ever received. I am profoundly grateful for everything she has done to assist me over the past year.
I had spent 3-4 years waffling about how I wanted to get an MBA, but had been procrastinating because the process felt too overwhelming to start. But through a recommendation from a family member, I found Katie.
Katie listened to me and broke the application process down until we had a plan that felt doable. Then, halfway through executing that plan, I had a family emergency and I called her about to quit everything.
In that moment, she helped me to adapt my plan again to make sure I got my application in, adjusting and cutting and reprioritizing to make sure we were still able to reach our deadlines in spite of my unexpected decrease in availability & time to devote to the application. I still wound up admitted to the school that I had been hoping for at the start.
Katie does an incredible job not just in the part of the job description around making sure that your application looks good and tells your best story (which she absolutely rocks), but also in connecting as a coach & teammate, helping you to figure out how best to manage your own resources and priorities to make the best of your application.
I am sure that without her I would still be planning on applying for an MBA someday, instead of an admit getting ready to head to B-school this fall. I am so happy I found her and have already recommended her to several of my other family members & friends as well.
I worked with Alan directly for months discussing my story and vision for the future. Alan helped frame ways for me to brainstorm where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do, and he then was my main point of contact for shaping how I tell my story. We iterated on my essays countless times, and I’m incredibly proud of how well the overall story and application turned out, particularly because of Alan. He’s a great coach who will listen when he needs to and provide input where necessary, and I can’t recommend his services enough.
Gina was extremely helpful throughout the application process and instrumental in my admissions success! She was particularly great at helping me determine my “why MBA” answer and I found her thought provoking questions during brainstorming sessions to be a highlight of working together. Another highlight was her detailed and blunt feedback on my resume and essays, which significantly improved my drafts between feedback sessions. I was admitted to multiple M7s with Gina’s help and would recommend her to anyone.
Narmeen was very helpful about how to strategize my application based on my work experience, strengths and weaknesses, and career goals. She helped me craft my narrative in an efficient and clear way. She was also extremely helpful with editing my resume (which needed a lot of work). I think Narmeen’s most valuable service was our mock interviews – she really had a great perspective on the mindset of the interviewer, which I believe was one of the biggest reasons I was able to get into my top choice program.
Melanie is a phenomenal consultant. She provided direction and focus to my application, gave fantastic feedback, and challenged me to go deeper on my goals and motivations which resulted in a super positive outcome – I got accepted into Columbia. I’d applied to CBS pretty late in the cycle and Melanie was able to jump in and help despite the quick turnaround. Melanie, being an alum herself, provided great insights on what CBS looks for and helped sharpen and polish my application to perfection. She is always available to answer questions and is 100% committed! Highly recommend!
Knowing that MIT Sloan was my top choice, I went for Kristen right away as she has the right experience and deep understanding of how Sloan works. Throughout this journey, Kristen has provided incredible feedback on my school selection, branding statement, essays, etc. What I like the most about Kristen is that she provides candid and constructive feedback. This allowed me to think twice on how I position myself in this competitive application process, how I tweak my essays to stand out, etc. I’d highly recommend Kristen if you’re looking for someone to provide constructive, objective, and honest feedback for your applications to those M7 schools.
I worked with Gina Chen at Vantage Point MBA during R2 applications after an unsuccessful self-attempt of R1. I had several challenges to overcome (low GRE score, low undergraduate GPA, unclear story, etc.), along with an extremely tight timeline.
After being matched with Gina, she quickly developed a clear plan of attack, and we worked countless hours to refine my “Why MBA” and develop my personal brand. She remained with me throughout the entire application, interview, and waitlist process. I credit much of my success to Gina.
I was accepted to my top Ivy League MBA program with a generous merit scholarship, and ultimately decided to accept a full-tuition Consortium fellowship offer at a T25.
Caryn was a fantastic consultant to work with throughout the application process. She is extremely thoughtful in getting to know her clients, which makes her application feedback all the more personalized and actionable. My MBA “pitch” and essay themes were so much clearer after her thoughtful input, and I know my recommenders appreciated her feedback as well. Would 10/10 recommend Caryn to any of my friends applying to B-school!
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Melanie on my MBA and master degree application. I started with only one program in a specialized master degree but decided to add a MBA about 2 weeks before the deadline. Even though the ddl was super tight, Melanie was able to help submit the application in time and i got an offer from both programs. She is extremely organized and will help push you to submit the best application.
Kristen provided incredible support for my MBA journey, especially navigating the inner workings of MIT Sloan as it was my top choice. I was initially working with another MBA consultant and switched to Kristen and couldn’t have been happier that I did. Her input was highly specific and tailored to my situation – helping me to land acceptances at all of my top choice programs.
In a process that makes you at times feel very stressed, Alan was a constant source of calm and rational perspective. He consistently helped me understand the level of depth and detail I needed to get to to truly demonstrate my accomplishments and made certain that we were not leaving anything on the table. With Alan’s help I was able to get into HBS, a school I never really thought I had a chance at. Alan makes sure to make you feel like his most important client and always gives an honest opinion. Could not recommend more, especially if you are a person who underplays their accomplishments!
If I could give a review above 5 stars, I would! After working with a consultant before Kristen and not having a good experience, I was nervous about hiring another one. Within the first 5 minutes of meeting with Kristen, I knew I had nothing to worry about.
Kristen is the most responsive, involved, and attention-to-detail consultant you could ask for. Kristen went above and beyond with her commitment to helping me with my applications and worries, far beyond any other consultant I’ve heard about from my peers and my own experience.
From the get-go, Kristen allowed me to set expectations of how I would need her help, and she worked tirelessly to exceed those. I met with Kristen once a week, sometimes more than that, to walk through my progress on brainstorming, essays, video responses, and other elements of my applications. She helped me create a detailed plan for each essay to make sure it flowed correctly and highlighted all the best aspects of my application.
We were in constant contact over email, having email chains for each school with over 100 emails a thread! Kristen turned drafts like a champ every couple of days (sometimes more than once a day!), each with thoughtful feedback and guidance on how I might streamline an idea or add something new she or I thought of. When I got stuck or had writer’s block, Kristen always made time to brainstorm and inspire me, making the writing process fun!
She worked one-on-one with my recommenders to provide feedback on their letters. Even though they have written multiple grad school recommendations over the years, my recommenders highlighted how Kristen’s feedback was thoughtful and concise, giving them tips and tricks on improving my recommendations and others moving forward.
Kristen made the whole thing seamless. I loved every second of my application process, and that is in large part due to her. She is a total rockstar, and anyone would be crazy not to hire her! Don’t look further!
I’m heading to my top M7 choice in the fall and could not be more thankful I had Kristen to guide me throughout the process! She is AWESOME!!
Caryn was incredibly helpful throughout the application process. She was super flexible and tailored the experience to fit my needs and timeline. She was quick and thorough when reviewing my work and always gave very thoughtful comments and recommendations, not only on the wording but also on crafting the actual story. I ended up getting accepted into my top program, and I don’t think I could have done it without all her help!
I worked with Molly for my second-round applications to HBS, GSB, and Wharton, and I’m excited to share that I got into two of the three schools! From start to finish, Molly’s guidance was incredibly valuable. Coming from a consulting background, I knew that having a unique and authentic story would be crucial. Molly’s in-depth questions and honest feedback were instrumental as I fine-tuned my narrative. When it came to writing my essays, her precise and insightful suggestions made a real difference. I highly recommend working with Molly!
Gina is excellent – I applied R2 this admissions cycle and worked with Gina on all my applications. She’s great at helping applicants identify their “why MBA” and how to craft a compelling narrative. What sets Gina apart is that she’s a great listener who can help you weave multiple facets of your life into a holistic story that resonates with admissions officers.
Gina is also incredibly flexible. I worked with her the last week of December and she always made time to respond to my emails and provide feedback on my essays, despite it being around the holidays. As other reviewers have mentioned, she doesn’t sugar coat her feedback, which results in significant improvements with each iteration of your essays. I can look back and say that without Gina’s help, I wouldn’t have been admitted to my top school choices! Thank you Gina for all that you do.
Melody is an excellent resource for all MBA applicants regardless where they are in the process. I reached out to Melody after having been accepted into one of my target 2-year programs and unexpectedly accepted into a 1-year program. Although we had not worked together throughout my application process Melody was able to provide me with the insights and considerations that I needed to make an informed decision between programs. She is extremely knowledgeable and was able to directly answer my questions while considering my specific decision factors. Melody provided me exactly what I needed to make the best decision with unexpected options and significant time pressure. I would highly recommend her to all MBA applicants!
Kristen was an incredible resource from beginning to end in this MBA application journey, which ultimately ended in 3/3 acceptances to M7 schools. I can say without a doubt that I don’t know if I would have achieved these outcomes without her, for a few reasons in particular. First, Kristen did not shy away from giving her honest and well-informed opinion – even when it was sometimes difficult to hear, it was always with the intention to help me show my best self in my application. In my case, this began with Kristen’s advice to wait until Round 2 so I had time to re-write my GMAT and hopefully get a more competitive score. It turns out that this additional time allowed me to additionally complete invaluable reflections on where I wanted to apply and what I wanted to gain from my MBA, which I know enhanced my essays and allowed me to show up with strong conviction during my interviews.
When it came to defining my personal brand, story and crafting my essays, Kristen was a strong partner in bringing together what I originally saw as distinct unrelated elements of who I am and what I have done. Kristen played a pivotal role in helping me create a clear, cohesive and compelling story that most importantly was genuine and authentic to me. Overall, I leave this experience with noting but positive things to say about the support and partnership I received from Kristen throughout the last year.
I owe my acceptance to my dream school entirely to Melody Jones. Her unwavering commitment and expertise were pivotal in shaping my application. Here are the highlights of my experience working with her:
Guidance Beyond Expectations: Melody’s personalized approach went far beyond mere consulting. She meticulously reviewed my essays, ensuring that my best foot was always forward. Her team’s feedback was invaluable, and their dedication was evident throughout the process. Friendly and Patient: Melody’s friendly demeanor made collaboration enjoyable. She worked tirelessly, leaving no stone unturned until she was satisfied with my application. Her patience and encouragement kept me motivated. Self-Reflection and Growth: Every conversation with Melody was a moment of introspection. Her insights helped me understand my profile better, and I learned immensely along the way. Dream University Admit: Without Melody’s guidance, achieving my dream university admission would have been impossible. Her expertise transformed my application. In summary, Melody Jones is not just an admissions consultant; she’s a mentor who believes in her clients’ potential. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking personalized guidance on their MBA journey.
Thank you, Melody, for making my dream a reality!
As a non-traditional candidate applying to MBA programs, I had no idea if I would truly even be considered for the programs I wanted to go to. Caryn was honest, helpful, and insightful throughout the entire application process. I ended up getting into my dream school and I truly believe it is in part due to Caryn’s insight and help.
I had a fantastic experience collaborating with Vantage Point. Navigating the MBA application process can often feel daunting, but their well-organized resources effectively simplify it, guiding you through each step with clarity.
Malvika Nayak was a great partner to have by my side. From day one, she helped me sort through my ideas and really focus on what stories to tell. She didn’t hesitate to push me to dig deeper, and it’s clear she knows what makes an essay stand out.
Definitely recommend investing in this; the support and advice I got were top-notch.
Sarah was an incredible thought partner throughout my entire application process, especially the essays. I couldn’t have crafted such a compelling narrative without brainstorming with Sarah. She was committed in understanding my background & got to know my story well enough that she could point out relevant examples to help me make a pithy point. As a Wharton alum, Sarah was particularly helpful in tailoring my essays to fit their expectations. As a result, I was accepted to 100% of the MBA programs I applied to & will be attending Wharton in the Fall
I decided to round two to Kellogg’s 2-Year MBA on a tight timeline while in-between jobs. Melanie helped me craft my resume and my story to highlight my career transitions, challenges I faced both professionally and personally, and create a compelling narrative that got me accepted to the only school I applied to. Melanie was extremely helpful throughout the resume, application, and interview process.
Shammi asks very insightful questions and listens very curiously. She is good at summarizing and synthesizing key themes about your profile and story and ensuring you reflect those in your application and essays (and keeps you honest). In her feedback on essays, she is very tactical, actionable, and pointed which allows for easy and direct improvement after she reviews the draft.
Narmeen far exceeded my expectations for what an MBA admissions consultant could provide. She helped me get admitted into Tuck, my top choice program, by providing a structured approach and personalized advice.
Narmeen is exceptional at outlining admissions essays based on the individual candidate’s background. During the application, I had numerous ideas on the types of content that I wanted to present to admissions, but was unsure how to best organize everything. Narmeen ensured that my essays flowed flawlessly and logically. She understands the differences between top MBA programs and will help people tailor their essays to each school. For Tuck, she emphasized my community fit, inclusion focus, and winter sports interests.
Additionally, Narmeen edits essays very quickly and efficiently and provides actionable advice on improvements with every draft you send her. Her experience living across continents helped me present my own international experiences. She has a very strong understanding of the types of content that admissions likes to see and can help highlight those qualities.
Finally, Narmeen is very approachable and responsive. She responded to my last-minute requests for resume edits. Narmeen understands what mistakes to avoid in the admissions process and prevented me from making a critical mistake in one of my admissions essays.
If you hire Narmeen, you can be confident that you will have an expert to bounce ideas off of and ultimately ensure that your application will be a polished as possible.
MBA applications are demanding and can be downright intimidating, but Alan’s reassuring attitude and strategic advice made the process feel more like a journey of self-discovery with, surprisingly, moments of fun. His encouragement to embrace my interests helped me write a compelling narrative that really represented me. The highly personalized advice he gave not only highlighted my strengths but also gave me a much-needed sense of confidence. Amid looming deadlines and distractions from my job, Alan’s commitment to detail and readiness to answer my numerous questions made all the difference. In summary, working with Alan was invaluable; he simplified the complexities of MBA admissions and helped me secure acceptance into my top-choice program. Thanks for everything, Alan!
Caryn and the Vantage team were crucial to my admission into the class of 2026 at two different M7 programs. Caryn understood my needs from the start, and worked with me to complete applications to 5 Round 1 programs although our first call didn’t kick off until August 1st. While I would recommend starting earlier, Caryn adjusted to the quick timeline, and helped me find my voice as I navigated the daunting essay process. She helped focus my writing on my strengths, and continuously highlighted what made me unique as an applicant. Once I received interviews, she again prepared me to ensure I felt calm and ready for the real thing. I would definitely recommend Vantage, and Caryn in particular, to any MBA applicant
Alan was my confidant, navigator and mentor throughout my business school application process. I was accepted to HBS, GSB, Wharton, Kellogg and Yale SOM all because of his incredible guidance and leadership.
When I first met with Alan, my story felt very scientific and less business-ey. I am a behavioral scientist applying to business school, not a masters or PhD program. But with Alan’s help, we crafted a unique narrative that emerged as a business leadership superpower story and hit on all the points I wanted to weave into my application!
Alan also helped me overcome my fear that my GRE scores were too low, bordering on the lower side of the GRE spectrum for my target schools. He provided lots of encouragement, and shared much research to back my candidacy – and clearly he was right.
From feeling overwhelmed and anxious by the process to carving out time to write a series of essays, Alan was supportive, insightful, driven and flexible. He would offer tidbits of advice, help revamp an essay structure, and meet with me at peculiar times to accommodate my full time work schedule. Alan helped me narrow down my list of schools to five target diverse schools and clearly outlined how to engage with my references to develop a holistic and compelling application.
I’m excited to be part of the GSB class of 2026! Stanford here I come!
Sarah was great to work with – she really helped to take my applications to the next level. She is deeply knowledgeable about what schools are looking for and how to craft your ‘story’ to not only properly reflect your background, but also to sell you as much as possible. Working with Sarah was a very smooth experience always helping me to stay on track and readily available to offer support whenever needed. I definitely believe that my applications would have been far weaker without her input!
Caryn helped me greatly in all facets of my application journey. She helped me thoughtfully define the list of schools I wanted to apply to and be able to articulate exactly why. From there, we worked on how to highlight my strengths and connect those to my future career goals – the resources Caryn and Vantage Point have are very helpful in driving the introspection necessary to craft a great application. Caryn was overall a great thought partner and supported me along every step of the journey, as did Vantage Point with their many helpful resources.
As a STEM professional reapplying to an M7 MBA program after an initial rejection, Kristen’s help was pivotal. Unlike other consultants I’d worked with, Kristen’s approach was in a league of its own. She has a unique talent for identifying and enhancing the strengths in my application, choosing the right stories, and ensuring a powerful and coherent narrative. Her ability to communicate complex ideas concisely and effectively made a huge difference. Thanks to her guidance, I turned my previous rejection into an acceptance at the same prestigious school. For anyone looking to make a significant impact on their MBA application, especially reapplicants, Kristen and VANTAGE POINT MBA CONSULTING team’s expertise is unmatched.
I had the pleasure of working with Melanie Espland for over 6mo. Vantage Point paired us up, and the pairing could not have been better.
She works around the clock to give her clients the best guidance. She will give you the tough love you need to take your applicant from good to great to excellent.
I applied to 3 schools while working full-time in consulting. Working with Melanie helped me hone my narrative and goals, allowing me to prioritize and complete my applications on time with minimal stress. Melanie always pushed me to be more specific but also provided encouragement when I needed it. Would recommend!
Caryn has been amazing and supportive throughout my whole MBA journey. I was hesitant to move forward with my applications as I received GMAT scores below average for my target schools, however, Caryn gave me the confidence I needed to craft my candidacy. I started a bit later than most applicants for round 1, but with her help, I received acceptances to all the schools I applied for with scholarship money from most as well! Thank you Caryn for all your help!
There are a lot of consultants who understand what top MBA programs admissions is looking for and what a strong application looks like. There are few like Kristen who will challenge you, force you to look into your past and your inspirations, and truly help you grow you until you reach that point.
Before I engaged Kristen, I spoke with a number of other consultants who encouraged me to apply almost exclusively to T15 schools, and only one M7 as a reach. I was a little discouraged as I had poured everything into my test scores and work progression – but said my dream school was not reasonable.
When I met with Kristen and Melody, I told them about my goals and they agreed to work with me to reach my target.
We started in the Spring with a personal branding exercise and iterated on my essays through the Summer. At each point, Kristen would ask me to dig deep and consider the root inspiration for my decisions, and how they related to my future goals etc. She also knew my personal past so well she mentioned possible connections between my actions that I had not considered but were very much true and powerful in my personal story. This process resulted in a consistent and genuine narrative within my application which was key.
In the end, we beat the odds. I was admitted to 3 M7 schools (including my dream school) and 2 T10 in R1. I was also fortunate enough to receive scholarships in many cases. All of this was only possible because of Kristen.
Do yourself a favor. Work with Kristen. You will learn about yourself and get your dream admit.
I worked with Melanie on my Round 1 applications to HBS, Wharton, and CBS in fall 2023. From the get-go, I found Melanie’s approach to working with me to be very structured. For each one of our connects, she had a plan for what we should discuss at that stage in the process – whether it be my overall story and goals, school selection, recommender strategy, essays. Melanie really helped to break down the daunting MBA applications process into digestible, understandable portions.
Additionally, Melanie is not afraid to be very candid and direct in her feedback and coaching. This is all done with the intent of making sure your overall story and essays are as compelling and airtight as they can be. She really understands what different admissions committees are looking for, and helps you craft that into your application.
What stands out to me about Gina is her ability to hone in on your strengths and unique traits as a candidate and help you tell your story in a compelling way. She gave me feedback on my essays that showed me how to think about the prompts and answer them in a way that speaks directly to the adcom. Most importantly, she’s genuinely passionate about helping people figure out their “why” and how the MBA can help them get there. I ended up with several M7 admits which I am absolutely thrilled about – can’t recommend her enough!
I worked with Melanie throughout my MBA application process on developing my ‘story’ and long-term goals, writing essays and completing all other aspects of the application (e.g. short answers, awards, recommendation letters). In our early sessions, Melanie challenged me on not only the ‘what’ behind my goals but the ‘why.’ This was critical in my being able to connect the dots between my various personal and professional experiences and ultimately lead to my long-term mission. Throughout the essay writing process, she was clear, specific and actionable on feedback. She was also timely, responsive and organized. Overall, Melanie is a true professional and her guidance throughout the process was invaluable.
I applied to 5 of the M7 business schools while working full-time in consulting. The only reason I was able to complete my applications on time & on track was due to support from Jaime at Vantage Point Consultants. She not only made sure that I centered the message of my applications on my story, vision, and goals, she made sure that I hit every milestone necessary to apply round 1 to all 5 schools with applications that were complete and well-rounded.
I was ultimately admitted to 3/5 schools, with a cumulative $250K+ in scholarship offers – thanks Jaime!
Shammi was an excellent guide and partner through the application process. As a dual MBA/MPP candidate, I particularly appreciated Shammi’s clear-sightedness and knowledge of both processes to help me stay organized and comfortably meet all of the deadlines. Together we thought through “Why MBA?” / “Why MPP?” / “Why X school?”, with Shammi asking thought-provoking questions and listening closely to help me turn jumbled thoughts into a clear and successful application story.
Katie was extremely supportive throughout the process. She definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone, but that’s exactly what you need to succeed in this extremely competitive process. She is very empathetic, helps you stay strong, and provides thoughtful feedback/advice. She was also able to accommodate short turnaround times (all reviews were <48 hrs). She’s also flexible on the level of support you need; never pushy on making you buy additional hours.
Shammi was great to work with! She did a great job helping me shape a compelling, authentic story up front, and then was very responsive as we iterated to convert that story into a set of cohesive essays. With her help, I was accepted into HBS! I highly recommend Shammi to anyone and everyone looking for admissions support.
Katie was awesome. She was blunt when needed and focused on getting me the best application possible. She clearly knew how to write an essay. It’s amazing how much changed from the first essay I wrote to the final one I submitted. Would highly recommend this progress and specifically Katie.
I reached out to Melody after having a horrible experience with a consultant and a failed attempt to get into any top 10 school. From my experience I realized that most top consultants take you into their batch but do provide the time and energy afterwards, compromising your career for their monetary gains. But this was not the case with Melody. With every discussion I had with her or with every draft of an essay I shared with her, I was surprised with the depth and breadth of feedback she covered. For the first round I worked with her on an hourly basis, and took her advice only where I was confused and every time her feedback was beyond what I could have even imagined. This was the reason I was very confident in my applications and got into Kellogg, Tuck and LBS in R1. I was so impressed with her expertise that I decided to do Stanford with her for R2, and she helped me understand and craft my story in such a way that I could have never done with any other consultant. She brainstormed with me, carefully analized my drafts, and pushed me to go deeper and deeper into my story. Finally my essay was so good that I got the Stanford GSB interview invite, and despite having a very abnormal (bad) interview experience from the interviewer’s end, I was waitlisted at GSB. I am sure that had I not worked with Melody I would have never even got an interview invite from GSB. If anyone is on the fence, I can surely say that after applying to B-schools consecutively for 2 years and dealing with many consultants, I can surely say that it is very hard that you find someone more skillful, knowledgable, willing to go the extra mile for candidates than Melody. You would see a mentor and friend in her and would look forward to speaking to her and getting her feedback every single time. You would more often than not find consultants who affects candidates’ odds negatively than positively, but I can assure you that it would never happen with Melody. I will be forever grateful to her for the efforts she put into my application from beginning till the end.
Working with Sacha and VantagePoint for my MBA application process was a great end to end experience. When I began working with VantagePoint I was already pretty advanced in the application process (I knew what schools I was applying to, had rough drafts of some essays, etc) so I was skeptical of what the value add of application consulting would be, but I’m very happy I decided to get Sacha’s support. She worked closely with me to help me take my applications from good to great (to the point that I got into my top 2 schools!). I also appreciated how much Sacha was able to adapt their process and methods to my specific needs and strengths so that I could truly get the most benefit from my time with her. Essay writing ended up being where I needed the most support and it was great to be able to work very closely with Sacha to strengthen my story. Overall, it was great to feel so wholly supported throughout every step of the application process.
Molly was super helpful in preparing essays, resumes, and building my MBA story. The part of the process I struggled with most was crafting my story and Molly was instrumental in helping me to craft my story in a way that it flowed through seamlessly in the various parts of my applications. She was very responsive and always worked with my schedule to get everything done! With her help, I went 3/3 on my top schools, one even with a full-tuition fellowship! 10/10 recommend!
When I started the process I knew I wanted to get an MBA and that was about it. Gina helped me to reflect on why I wanted to go, why now was the right time, and specifically how the degree would excel my career. Applying to business schools is a daunting process and Gina helped add structure and was available to answer any and all of my one off questions. Here feedback was not at all sugar coated, but was exactly what I needed to hear to feel confident about every application I submitted.
As a non-traditional applicant applying to MBA programs, I found Shammi’s feedback extremely helpful in presenting my story in the best way possible. She helped me identify unique aspects of my job that I took for granted. With Shammi’s help, I got into my dream school – MIT Sloan this fall. She is patient, insightful, and extremely helpful! Thank you, Shammi!
