Hi Mr. Biztech, this is Kristen from MBA Prep School. Wow, I am exhausted just reading about all that you have accomplished at the tender age of 21. Based on your profile, I am guessing you are applying for deferred admission? In that case, you have so many of the qualifications that your target schools are looking for: stellar academics, relevant internships, and extracurricular leadership experience. Something that isn’t clear from the information you provided is the impact you had in each of your internships. If I was reading your application, i would want to know specifics around high-profile projects you may have been given, quantifiable results you achieved, etc. This is especially true in tech if you’ve had an opportunity to work on a product that has market recognition. I’d also want to know more about your start-up: how did you get the funding, what is it’s current status, what does it do, etc. Given Stanford’s competitiveness and the limited info I have I have to give a conservative rating, but it sounds like you are someone who aims to excel in all areas of his life. If your work experiences match the other life accomplishments, I think you will turn heads!

Hi Mr. BizTech, this is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions. Very impressed with your academics and your academic progress already. Also impressed with your startup experience. In terms of GSB, I would think big as they are looking for people to change lives, change organizations and change the world. You might be the kind of person they are looking for—and to be successful you should have some thoughtful things to share about what matters most and why. I would also look at some of the other deferred admit programs that are still taking applicants. You do look to have the type of strong academics, test scores, work experience and leadership and also STEM background that can be very helpful.

I’m going to assume here you are applying for deferred admission? It sounds like you check many of the boxes for your target programs: strong extracurricular leadership in college, several relevant internships, impeccable GPA. One thing missing from your summary is specifics around what you accomplished during your internships. In your application, you will want to highlight high-profile assignments you were given and quantify the impact you were able to have. You’ll also want to clarify your entrepreneurial venture, its current status, how you got funded, etc. Knowing how competitive Stanford is, I have to be conservative in my ranking given the limited information I have but my assumption is you are someone who aims to excel in all areas of your life. I can certainly see you being worth a look!

You don’t need an MBA. Youre an engineer. You are also very young and have no work experience.
