After 16 long years in refugee camps, I persuaded my family to embark on a new life in America. To this day, I’m moved by the immense trust my parents placed in their teenagers to navigate our lives in America. As we grappled with the complexities of a new culture, I became the first in our family to enroll in college. Despite my initial challenges, reflected in my undergraduate GPA of 2.63, I triumphed with a 4.0 GPA in my master’s and doctoral studies.
In the near future, I hope to work in cybersecurity consulting. Long term, I intend to leave consultancy and work in large-cap firms, managing security programs.
