I’m starting as an IBD analyst at a top Bulge Bracket bank in Asia. I’m also passionate about human rights. My hometown recently went through massive protests that captured intl attention (think Myanmar), which I touched on in my essays. I want to work in impact investing post-MBA and combine my background in finance and my passion for human rights.
I’m applying for deferred admissions at all M7 schools except Kellogg. In my essays, I heavily emphasized how my hometown’s protests shaped my passion for impact investing. I feel like my 3.60 GPA is my weak point, as it’s below average for deferred applicants, but I hope my GMAT and the prestige of my undergrad college can make up for it.

– I organized a hugely successful event on campus about the protests in my hometown, attended by hundreds of students. – I made a pivot from politics to finance. I previously interned for a US Senator and a US Congressman. I then did an internship in wealth management at a top bank, and most recently an IBD internship at a top bank in Asia.
I hope to work in impact investing, with a focus on human rights, so I can combine my background in finance with my passion for human rights (this is because of what my hometown is going through, and demonstrated through my extracurriculars). Immediately after my MBA, I hope to work as an ESG investment analyst at an asset management firm.
