    Stanford is just a tough nut to crack. And while you clearly have a lot of promise, including a job with a top hedge fund and a 760 GMAT, I just don’t think Stanford is going to buy it. There are a number of reasons for this, including the fact that the GSB will think that if you really want to go there, you will boomerang back when you have more work experience. But again your are in the most over represented part of the pool at an Indian. Your extras are fantastic and do take you a bit out of male Indian pool but that may not be enough at Stanford.

    OK, here’s my quick reaction…you are a business major going to work for a hedge fund. You’re already on the b-school path. Deferred programs will know this and wonder if they need to lock you down now. The basketball thing makes you more interesting though. Hmmm. The future is a bit uncertain. I sorta think Booth will want to lock you down based on the stats and holistic review of your profile. Your profile might be more common at HBS and GSB so they may pass for now. BUT….if anyone has a shot, you do. So I want you to go for it. Perhaps consider MIT Sloan, …
