Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. I think your GMAT score(!) certainly will help offset your GPA, and in the applications’ optional essays you can bring up the fact that you worked during college.
I’d like to be clearer on why you feel you need an MBA, given that you’ve already successfully managed your family’s fund over the last few years. What are the skills and experiences you need to take it to the next level, and what type of impact do you want to make? For example, do you want to be able to fund certain causes? And, why are you interested in working in Europe or Asia post-MBA? Make sure that you clarify your motivations behind getting an MBA and explain …

Mr. Family Investment Fund – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 790 GMAT! It definitely will give adcom confidence in your ability to do the work in their program. Being an amateur MMA fighter is definitely something that someone reviewing your application will remember.
This year may be tough for LBS. Word is that they have record numbers of applications. Also, since you are below their average (not sure if you have 3 years experience now or would have 3 years at matriculation) they may not give you a good look.

It seems that you don’t have formal investment experience. Why do you want an MBA rather than continuing in your job and getting a CFA? What do you hope to learn during business school that you couldn’t learn on your own? If the investment fund is doing so well, why would you want to leave and who would manage it in your absence? Lots of questions that you will need to answer to create a compelling application.
I feel like I need a lot more information to truly understand your profile and goals. For that reason, I’m giving you a 20% chance at LBS.
