Hi Mr. French in Japan, this is Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission. I have to say, aspects of your story remind me of those of several of my past clients, some of whom were successful in getting into Harvard (some interviewed but did not convert)….so I can see a path here to HBS depending on the details of your experience, which I’m just getting a tiny taste of in your profile. I think your odds are pretty good of an interview if your experience checks out and you present yourself correctly in the essay/resume/short answers, and from there your performance in the interview will determine your fate (50/50 odds). To me, you’ve got the goods, but it will all come down to execution. …

To me, you’ve got the goods, but it will all come down to execution. I’m not sure if you’re planning on working with a consultant, but it helps to dig deep and push yourself – so try to be reflective and write from the heart (we also have a Harvard/Stanford essays book we just released with P&Q – you may want to check it out if you are trying to go solo). Around interview release time, we run a workshop on what the interviewers look for that also can be very helpful. Subscribe on our website and you’ll get all the info and if you want to talk more about HBS (I went there myself) and your profile, feel free to reach out for a consultation. And also – I suggest that you do broaden your list. It’s a long road, and nothing is assured in this highly unpredictable process. Add some other great programs that will get you where you want to go.
Without HEC/ESSEC/ESCP undergrad, you are toast
