Grew up in a small village, I made my way to a decent university as a first-generation college student. I have had a very solid career path in the healthcare business. Started as a management trainee in a top company, I have worked for 3 companies and got 2 promotions. Now I am the youngest senior product manager in my company.
I intended to join a leadership program in top healthcare companies. Through rotations in middle-level management positions, I will grow to be a team leader in a commercial function. or I will join a healthcare VC company, helping Chinese bio-pharma start-ups grow and catch up in the bio-pharma race.

The promotions at work convey that you’re doing well – be sure to support that with robust recommendation letters. All these factors point to you being a competitive candidate at Booth. I think if you can highlight these strengths and share your personal stories compellingly through the essays, you’d have a strong shot at Booth. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
Hello Mr. Healthcare Marketing, it’s Lisa Cummings of Stratus Admissions. Your college and employment stories certainly point to true grit and determination. Wow. Candidates are sometimes wary about discussing personal stories in their applications – you shouldn’t be, I imagine adcoms will be very interested in hearing about how you achieved your education and professional successes. What obstacles did you encounter and how did you overcome them? Did you have any help or mentors along the way? Stats wise, you line up pretty well with Booth’s averages although your GPA is a little on the low side and your years of work experience is a little high so I strongly suggest that you get the applications done in this admissions cycle if …

Be sure to very clearly articulate the Why MBA in your application and to give more color around your volunteer work with JA and with the medical journal. How did you get involved in these groups and what is the extent of your work with them? Assuming that you can put together strong essays and pick the right recommenders, you should be in good shape. Best of luck in the process.
