Supported my brother financially in the US to complete successfully his degree to be an architect. I was one of the top 3 salespeople on a team of 12. Achieved top-performer score in the yearly evaluation in 4 of 8 years of my career work experience.
I would like to accelerate my career at my current employer (Sponsored), then my long term aspiration is to start a fund that empower retail investing in my country, and to contribute positively through providing capital to thrive industries, adding more jobs and benefiting the economy while achieving high risk-adjusted returns.

Hello Mr. Middle Eastern Investor! Krista Nannery from mbaMIssion here. I spent the earlier part of the decade working all over the Middle East (UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar) and loved it. I’m excited about your candidacy because b-schools don’t see enough GCC candidates. While your passport won’t be the thing that gets you in, it will ensure that your application is closely reviewed by the schools on your list. And I have to tell you — I love your schools. You’ve put together a very fair and balanced portfolio which will help you in this process because… There are a few things I am worried about for you… You are more experienced that the average b-school candidate. Will AdComs feel that they can “sell you” to a prospective employer, who typically has jobs for people with 2 to 6 years of work experience? Your GPA is 2.6, which puts you in the bottom 10% of accepted candidates at top schools. This is a tough position to be in. Your GRE is good but a little lower than what I’d like to see. (I’d also want to know how you did on the Quant. I like to see 162.) BUT if you keep schools like Cornell, Fuqua, Anderson and Stern on your list, I think you’ll have options. How about Ross too? Very easy application, which makes it a no-brainer in my book! All the best for this process! Krista
Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. You have some really interesting experience that I think ad-coms will be intrigued by! A couple potential weaknesses — I think you’ll need to explain your lower GPA in an optional essay. It is mitigated by a higher GRE for sure, and you have lots of great work experience across sales, finance and the startup world. Also you’re on the older side so will really need to be explicit about why NOW is the time for the MBA. You allude to this when saying you want to accelerate your career and will be a sponsored candidate, but be very clear about what you have not been able to do without skills in XYZ that an MBA could help …
You allude to this when saying you want to accelerate your career and will be a sponsored candidate, but be very clear about what you have not been able to do without skills in XYZ that an MBA could help you with. For example, are their soft skills such as influencing and persuading that you want to learn and practice in an MBA program? Show how an MBA will help you make a bigger impact at your company. Booth and other schools will like that you’re from the Middle East because it is a region under-represented at US schools. I like your overall career aspiration and think you can tell a compelling story to admissions. Good luck!
