Pizza for breakfast? Love it. Your background is fascinating. Your numbers are in line. Your accomplishments at work impressive. Your transition from Big 4 auditor to a financial analysis job at a Fortune 500 company was really smart. But you’ll also be competing with lots of people in Stanford’s MBA applicant pool who also check each of these three boxes. So it may well come down to what have you already done to change things for the better. I very much like the fact that you teach high school students about financial literacy, are an online tutor, was a lead for campus recruiting when yo worked in the Big 4, and held several leadership positions in college. Doing these wonderful things is a real plus …

I very much like the fact that you teach high school students about financial literacy, are an online tutor, was a lead for campus recruiting when yo worked in the Big 4, and held several leadership positions in college. Doing these wonderful things is a real plus but showing how they impacted others is what Stanford is really looking for. If you were able to do that, your chances are pretty good at the GSB. If not, you won’t be able to jump over that incredible admit rate of 6%-7%.
