Hi, it’s Nisha with mbaMission. What an intriguing background you have – startup, circus, an international master’s program, and R&D! I’m so curious about what drove your path. In any case, it sounds like you’ve had great impact on environmental regulations, which the admissions committee will love to learn about.

I’d like to understand better the motivations behind your post-MBA goals: why do you want to enter a role in healthcare/biotech? You mention that you have a passion for people development and implementing processes to boost efficiency, but you can have the opportunity to do this across various industries. Therefore, be clear in your applications how your experiences and observations to date have led you to healthcare, and what specific impact you want to make in this particular field.

WIth your current profile, I think that HEC and IESE are quite attainable. For the other programs, it wouldn’t hurt to boost your GMAT a bit if you feel that you can. I hope that helps a bit – best of luck!

In addition, you have start up experience as well as large CPG – and it sounds like some pretty solid leadership within your current team. I think you are set up to be a memorable candidate. Your international experience will be valued at any school, and I like that you are continuing to look at international schools (and schools with strong international reach) for your business education. Where I’d like to know more is why healthcare/biotech? While you appear to have a solid set of skills that will be leveragable into these industries, the why behind this needs to be a part of your story. While you haven’t listed any extracurriculars here, is there something personally or professionally that draws you this direction. I love working with clients to help piece this story together. For your applications, you need to be more specific about what type of a role you’d like to have post-MBA and where you see that taking you long term. Articulating your goals more specifically gives evidence that you know what opportunities there are in healthcare. You’ve picked a solid list of schools where your stats will be competitive. Another school you may want to take a look at is Michigan Ross. I think you chances at HEC are strong, and your chances are close to double across the programs on your list.
