Candidate:

Mr. Special Operations

About Me:

I have been a Navy SEAL for 20 years, with the last 13 years as a member of Naval Special Warfare Developments Group. I have extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams, including international members, through the planning and execution of projects in arduous environments around the world. In the past year, I have transitioned into a military acquisitions role, serving as an active-duty advisor for several multi-million dollar projects. I have considered an EMBA given my age, but having completed my undergrad online, I long for a fully immersive experience. Because I am retiring from the Navy and using the G.I. Bill, I will not have to work.

Big Life Wins:

Several years ago, a friend shared that someone close to them lost their teenage daughter in a car crash. The girl had been a big supporter of Tom Brady’s charity while alive, and in lieu of flowers, the family asked that all donations go to the charity. Knowing the head of security for Gillette Stadium at the time, I was able to arrange the opportunity for her brothers to meet with Tom Brady. I never met the family, but knowing I could make an impact was one of the most satisfying feelings I have ever felt.

Post MBA Goal:

Throughout my career, I have witnessed many in my profession succumb to mental health problems. Furthermore, I was one of the many who suffered as well. This allowed me to observe first-hand, gaps in preventative mental health care and risk-management practices. When I recovered, I became passionate about the possibility of preventing others from going through what I did. With my passion for problem-solving and analytics, I intend to begin my own business focused on innovative solutions to address these gaps at their source.
