Hello Mr. Tesla Intern! Krista Nannery from mbaMission here! If there’s one thing I know that GSB likes — it’s a great GPA. And you’ve got that! For their deferred program, they also tend to like engineering-y people and of course, there’s the Tesla factor. So I think you have a really good shot at deferred programs with this combination BUT….GSB and HBS are tougher than tough. So maybe your odds are better than most people, but because we’re specifically talking about these two schools, your odds are still low. Can I encourage you to add any other deferred programs to your list? (MIT Sloan perhaps?) I’d love for you to maximize your chances! I wish you all the best in this competitive process. GOOD …

Hi Mr. Tesla Intern, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Looks like you’ve had some really interesting internships and contributed through some exciting events during those internships. This work experience will be an asset to your application for deferred MBA programs. As an Indian engineer, your GMAT score puts you at a bit of a disadvantage. While there is not consistent published data, at HBS the deferred GMAT average has been historically higher than the overall class average (740 vs the class average of 730). Your consulting experience pre-MBA will help your post-MBA goal of MBB. For your essays, you will want to really highlight the leadership you were able to show and what you learned through your internship experiences. Also, can you talk about your …

Your consulting experience pre-MBA will help your post-MBA goal of MBB. For your essays, you will want to really highlight the leadership you were able to show and what you learned through your internship experiences. Also, can you talk about your leadership extracurricularly – what have you done as the Consulting Marketing lead? And how have you helped to lead the projects through the engineering projects you done in the community. But be careful not to laundry list your accomplishments, what have been your most significant achievements to show who you are – and go deeper. If you can pull all these pieces together – I think you have a slightly higher chances than the typical acceptance rate of 12%. I think your chances will be slightly higher across other deferred programs – and would highly suggest looking at Darden’s program if consulting is your long term plan. Good luck!
GMAT might be an issue due to Stanford’s high levels
