The red flag in your profile is, of course, your GPA at West Point. On the other hand, you have more than made up for it with both an impressive GRE score and a stellar service career. Your career goals line up perfectly with your work experience as well. That is a real plus. In your application, you need to be pro-active in explaining why your GPA is on the low side at West Point. Don’t make excuses–just explain why you think you didn’t do as well and make sure you say this is not an indication of your academic abilities. High grades on the graduate degree you are working on will also help alleviate any concern over your undergrad GPA. If you do this …
