Won internal Nike sustainability content (1/600 applicants) focused on elevating Nike sustainability services to retail consumers (i.e. take back, apparel repair, shoe cleaning, etc.). Hi Ms. Change Management! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant. Your cross functional and people centric work experience sounds very interesting and strong, especially at a top CPG company. Definitely highlight how much exposure you are getting across the various functions. I also find college athletes to make strong MBA applicants, because it sounds like you can highlight qualities like teamwork and persistence, and ability to manage demanding priorities with a strong GPA performance. The two areas that are concern me are 1) your existing Masters degree, as I imagine there would be some overlap with MBA coursework, so your reasons for doing an MBA will need to be solid, and 2) your GMAT is within Anderson’s range but below their 719 average. Those …

Hello Ms. Change Management, it’s Lisa Cummings of Stratus Admissions. While not a slam dunk, I do think you have a good shot at getting an offer from Anderson. Do you think the 700 score is your top or might there be room to add a few points with targeted study or tutoring? Evan a slightly higher GMAt would make you more competitive. Sorry to hear about all your injuries but that didn’t seem to stop you from having a successful college career in the classroom and on the court. Schools like to see candidates who can juggle multiple activities as that’s what business school is all about. I also like that you have continued your love of basketball now as a coach. From …

From what you have written here, you seem to have terrific broad experience and exposure at a top retailer. In your essays (and interviews) you will want to highlight the role you played on those cross functional teams and projects as well as the impact you have had. Your passion for sustainability is also admirable. You will want to build a strong case for the Why MBA question. It’s certainly not unheard of for an MBA candidate to have a masters in an adjacent field but be sure you can articulate why you now need an MBA to help you achieve your goals. I wish you all the best!
