Extremely multi-disciplinary, but my passion lies in social entrepreneurship and utilizing tech and innovation with solving social problems. I am a CEO/Founder of a FinTech/EdTech company that gained funding from VCs and top entrepreneurs. I have experience working for gov’t agencies and the UN and have pushed worldwide policies.

Hi, it’s Nisha with mbaMission. You have such an intriguing background – so impressed that you were able to make a fresh start at Harvard and establish an impactful FinTech/EdTech company!
I see that you’re interested in continuing down the social entrepreneurship path – I recommend honing in on what that looks like for you. What role do you want to be in post-MBA, and what do you see yourself doing in the long term? For example, if it is impact investing, you’ll want to gain hands-on experience first, perhaps in investment banking – I’ve worked successfully with several clients who entered IB post-MBA with the goal of entering impact investing down the line.
Regarding your profile – the average GRE score …
Regarding your profile – the average GRE score for the schools you are targeting is about 160+ on both the Q and V sections, so I recommend retaking (it will also help offset your lower undergrad GPA). I’d also add Duke Fuqua to your list. Hope that helps a bit – best of luck!
Hi Ms. Change the World, This is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions Counseling.I am impressed with your ability to found a Fintech/Edtech company that gained funding form VCs. I’m also appreciating your success even more given what you mention as some very big personal challenges growing up. Your story roughly reminds me of the book Educated by Tara Westover. I would not let your result at HBS stop you from reaching for your goals. I like Yale and Johnson as possibilities for you—but also look at GSB—as if you can tell your story in a compelling way it does sound like you have big dreams and do indeed want to change the world. I also think a place like Fuqua or Haas might be interested …
I also think a place like Fuqua or Haas might be interested in you as well. Some of the programs that are offering waivers or looking at alternative testing like the Executive Assessment could also be helpful to you—Darden, Sloan, Fuqua, CBS and Stern and an ever-growing list of MBA programs will accept the Executive Assessment and this might be helpful in your case as well. I’d love to hear more about the challenges you have overcome and how you intend to utilize fintech and edtech to help solve problems. I would be glad to learn more of your background in a free consult so please reach out if you want to discuss more about your situation.
