Hi Ms. Gap Fixer, Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission here. OK I confess, I have no idea what you mean when you say you are a Gap Fixer. Gap in what, where is the gap and how do you fix it? This might sound pretty basic, but remember that the admissions committee does not know your world and can’t be expected to guess at what you mean if you go for a high concept pitch with little explanation around it. I also don’t know what a verbal recommendation at Harvard MUN means. Verbal recommendation from whom to do what? Is this something from college? Model UN is usually something you do at school, so I’m assuming this is related to a college extracurricular …
Model UN is usually something you do at school, so I’m assuming this is related to a college extracurricular — which certainly is great, but was a while ago. Your GPA isn’t super clear to me – what kind of scale is the 3.0 on? Did you calculate it/adjust it or is that your grade out of 4.0 or some other number? That will matter in the evaluation, of course. I like your 740 GMAT, but it’s not that far above Kellogg’s average and you’re in a fairly competitive pool of Indian applicants, so improving it would still be recommended, especially if your GPA is below average for your peers (hard to say without knowing context). It’s nice that you already have a certificate from Kellogg – and I’m sure that will help a bit – but what will count even more is your impact and leadership at work. Since you haven’t really described that at all above, I can’t really boost your odds. I also found your post-MBA goal to be worrisome — if they ask for your short term goal, make sure to describe that, I would not ignore it for a future high profile title. So all in all, looks like a lot to work on here and it’s tough to give you very favorable chances just now, but I think you can very much improve your odds by fleshing out your story more fully and bringing your leadership and passion into the foreground! Good luck!
