Big Life Wins:

– I was immensely scared when I was asked to mentor an MBA student and a fresh B.Tech grad and introduce them to the world of sales with my experience of 2 years.
– My manager had taken a big leap of faith and entrusted me with the responsibility of guiding these two.
It was hard at the beginning, I used to cry at night because I didn’t find myself as an able leader for the lateral and was annoyed with the fresh grad’s multiple questions. It did teach me an extremely important lesson, a leader needs to be versatile. Both of them required different styles. For the fresh grad, I began hand-holding because he really needed help and with the lateral, I became more organised, introduced him to the world of sales at this company and learnt from him. One of my biggest achievements as a leader was when my fresh grad was praised by the client for excellent execution. I felt so happy and knew I wanted to continue mentoring and helping people. With the lateral, he valued my mentorship and he won multiple deals and credited them to me for teaching him the know-hows. This journey helped me understand myself more and how I do want to create an impact and give them an experience that they remember for a lifetime.
