I was a published poet with national and international awards before becoming a CPA (5+ years exp. in real estate). I work as a marketing strategist and copyeditor through my consulting practice. As an older applicant, I understand the importance of “Why an MBA now?” I want to highlight how an MBA program will allow me to bridge my knowledge gaps in operations, strategy, and policy studies to solve the complex issue of housing affordability. And, that is just plain awesome! Your goals in affordable housing feel authentic and real based on your background in real estate and is also complemented by your work around financial literacy (I presume these two topics source from the same motivation to create equal opportunities for all). My biggest piece of advice for you all comes down to your storytelling, which, as a poet, should hopefully come naturally to you.
