Hi Ms. Shy Investment Banker, Kristen from MBA Prep School here. You sure don’t sound shy to me, given your involvement in the student community at WashU, your entrepreneurial venture, and the fact that you’ve landed an investment banking analyst role. You also have a stellar academic background and GMAT score and must be very driven, given you balanced your on-campus business with an internship and part-time job. Seems to me you have all the makings of a 2+2! Since the deadline has already passed, let me share some interview advice. Something that is challenging about applying to deferred entry MBA programs is pinpointing a career goal. With little work experience, it’s hard to know exactly what you will want to do in a few …
With little work experience, it’s hard to know exactly what you will want to do in a few years; however, if you are already applying for an MBA you have to have some idea of why it makes sense for you to secure your spot now rather than wait and apply in a few years. Make sure you firm up your reasons for applying 2+2 and try to clarify your plan as much as possible, even if it is merely hypothesizing how you will spend the next 2 years. Best of luck!
Most people in 2+2 Programs are from STEM Background. If you want, you can take a shot but I would recommend you to gain valuable work experience first and then apply for Harvard Traditional MBA.
