Hello Ms. Texas Blonde! Krista Nannery from mbaMission here. Thanks for posting! The Coronavirus is having a massive impact on all of us — I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this crazy time. B-schools will understand the layoff because of this but I still want you to address it head-on in the optional essay so they don’t have any questions. I am so pleased that Booth has invited you to interview because that may bode well for your other applications. I’ve learned over the years that it can be challenging (but not impossible) to get into b-school if you do not have a few years of full-time work experience under your belt. B-schools want candidates with deep professional experience who can add to classroom discussions. However, given your success with Booth, your complete picture must be very compelling! (These one dimensional reviews can be tough because I don’t have your entire CV.) I certainly think you should take advantage of this extended R3 apply and see what happens. If you are not successful though, you may want to wait another two years and try again when the odds at the top schools might be more in your favor. All the best, Krista P.S. Cornell just extended their deadline to June 1. Might be worth a look too!
Undergrad and work experience may have a bigger weight the probability of being accepted into U of Chicago.
Seems like a good fit for Marshall.
