I am a 31 year old Civil Engineer based in the Philippines. I am currently in construction management, overall in charge of the construction of a residential tower valued at $47M. I split my time between work and my Ultimate Frisbee career. I am a member of the National team and will also be a playing coach in an upcoming world championship.
I am considering retaking my GMAT (my mock scores were 750, 730, and 740). Is it advisable or am I better off improving other aspects of my application? Appreciate your comments!

– As a structural designer, designed the iconic golden spire and crown of the tallest hotel in the Philippines. – As first time captain and playing coach, led my club team to back to back finals appearances in national leagues.
My goal is to transition to project and business development, creating feasibility studies and studying marketability of projects in the Philippines. My long-term goal is to eventually take on an executive role in real estate, and earning an MBA, coupled with my experience handling engineers and workers, will help me become effective at that role

Hi Ms. Ultimate Frisbee Engineer, It’s not easy being a female professional in construction, so kudos to running a big project like the $47M residential tower. This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I like that you have a strong work track record and achievements, as well as a passion (ultimate frisbee) outside of work. While you did well in undergrad, I think your GMAT could be stronger, especially as you have been scoring higher than 710 for your mocks. Beefing it up even by 10-20 points will make you more competitive for Columbia. So I recommend retaking the GMAT if you can. As you pull your apps together, be sure to describe what motivates you to be passionate about your career goals in project / business …
