Hi Ms. Woman in STEM, When I read the information you have provided here I immediately wanted to know more about you. I believe the adcoms at Wharton and Berkeley Haas will feel the same. Hi Ms. Woman in STEM, When I read the information you have provided here I immediately wanted to know more about you. I believe the adcoms at Wharton and Berkeley Haas will feel the same. You are ticking many boxes here right from the off. For starters, you’re still early in your career but you’ve clearly been bitten by the entrepreneurship bug and you’re focused on a fascinating and fast-growing industry. The double promotion within your current healthcare company suggests you’re on a strong leadership track and you’ll be able to point to clear career progression even during those uncertain days of the pandemic. As a first generation woman in STEM I believe you have probably faced tough decisions and challenges along the way, but have still engaged in thoughtful career planning which belies your limited experience. I would like to know what GMAT score you are going to lay down for this application process but I’d put money on you having the determination to secure a good score. Other than that, I guess my only question would be about your extra-curriculars – what format does your DEI involvement take, for example? Are you on a work committee? Are you leading initiatives? Wharton will be looking for evidence of impact on your environment, both professional and personal. Feel free to reach out for a more in-depth discussion of your options moving into the application season – I wish you the very best of luck.
