Credentials: Mr. White is a Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences at Northwestern University, where his interests include behavioral-based leadership, industrial psychology, organizational behavior, and engineering entrepreneurship. A former governor for the Chicago Stock Exchange, White was the CEO of Bell & Howell Company and Chairman of Whitestar Graphics before joining the Northwestern faculty in 1998. He has served as a board member for companies ranging from The Reader’s Digest to USG. White also authored From Day One, a career guide for new graduates. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Description: How do you prepare for a new job or transition to a promotion? In this course, you’ll author an onboarding plan, to prepare you to start fast and contribute immediately. In addition, you’ll cover topics like notching early wins; developing a relationship with your manager; managing your image; and identifying your weaknesses and potential blind spots. The course consists of videos, readings, and quizzes. During the program, peers will also provide feedback on your onboarding plan.
