“Students are surprised to discover how close-knit our community is,” says Katie Lloyd, executive director of MBA admissions at Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business. “We have only 85 students coming in this year so they really get to know their fellow classmates in the first semester along with the faculty. Being a smaller program, most of our students will graduate having had three to five practicums. A lot of schools talk about practical experiences but Georgia Tech puts their mouth where their money is. MBA students here have at least one class among their core courses that focus on a practicum and then most students are taking three to five additional classes with practicums. From international to domestic practicums, there are quite a bit of opportunities.”
