Podcast Interview With ESMT Berlin’s Nick Barniville

Nick Barniville, associate dean of degree programs at ESMT Berlin

ESMT Berlin

“Aside from finding the fit and all that,” says Nick Barniville, associate dean of degree programs at ESMT Berlin in Germany. “I think it’s always important to remember that the applicant is the customer. There is no point in messing around in your application pretending who you are or you aren’t. What you are trying to find out is, does the school sell what you are looking to buy? As a customer trying to buy a service, which is essentially what we provide in education, you should be totally upfront in what you want from the school and we will tell you ‘yes, that is what we do,’ or ‘no, that is not what we do.’ And if you are planning to stay in Germany, as 70% of our graduates do, try to learn a bit of the language before you come because you’ll have more options.”
