Description:  Social entrepreneurship…social responsibility…social enterprise. In a nutshell, it is using organizational tools and resources to provide solutions to social issues involving areas like healthcare, education, and the environment. This course is an introduction to this field. Instead of focusing on more complex concepts like scaling and sustainability, it focuses on helping students find an area of need and developing a social venture as part of class teams. Taught through videos and case readings, the course also covers common financial models for social ventures, along with reviews of why certain organizations flourished and others failed.
