Karla is seriously amazing. I was really nervous going into the process about high-volume consultants but Karla was not at all like a few of my friend’s experiences. She was super responsive and probably worked on my application/story more than I did. Her network is amazing and everyone she put me in contact with gave her glowing reviews as well. There is really no other choice honestly, go with Karla!
As an engineer by trade, I had very little insight into the MBA admissions process so I was very fortunate to have found Karla through Fortuna Admissions. She not only had deep insight and knowledge of admissions and the different school’s expectations but she always went above and beyond to make sure that every inch of my authentic self was demonstrated in my applications. Initially, I never considered applying to HBS let alone being admitted! Building a strong application is no easy feat and I truly believe that Karla’s influence, drive, and support were the key factors for me to be admitted to HBS. I am truly thankful to have worked with her because she genuinely cares for her client’s success! I fully recommend her if you want to put your best foot forward in the application process.
I am glad to have found Julia in my application process very early on. The initial part of introspection to get to your origin story can be daunting but Julia made it seem much easier. She heard all my stories and helped me to decide which ones to include in my essays. I’m extremely grateful to her for the n number of iterations we had to go through to get our final story out.
I engaged with Emma less than four weeks from my R2 Application deadlines, and one conversation later, I realized I had hit the jackpot, and got a mentor for life! Emma Bond turned out to be my savior at the 11th hour, highlighting key points in my backstory I had never even thought of. While her suggestions for my CV, essay questions and interview prep were thorough and meticulous, her polite criticism every step of the way turned out to be a real game-changer. She literally breathed life and clarity into my applications, with unbelievably quick response times (often within hours in spite of the time difference), and gave me the much needed confidence and direction in applying to the B-Schools of my dreams! Her constant endeavor to fine-tune all aspects of my applications while retaining my authentic voice is truly praiseworthy.
I ended up getting a full-ride admit to the London Business School, an incredibly rare feat and honestly something I did not even expect. This would have been impossible without her relentless support, genuine advice, her prompt responses to my most trivial doubts, and her complete confidence in my potential. With Emma Bond backing you, you know you are going only to the best of places in the world – she has my 100% recommendation!
I reached out to Fortuna Admissions after I got rejected by an MBA school. I chose Fortuna after researching many admission consultants. Fortuna is a unique team of MBA admission directors who provide you with first-hand insider info. My experience with Fortuna has been flawless. They are very efficient, informative, and professional. Even before my 30 minutes free consultation, the sales consultant (Jenifer) was very efficient and asked me to fill out a short questionnaire so she could prepare for the consultation efficiently. Jenifer was also very kind, smart, and truly understood what I needed.
Now I want to talk about Emma. It’s a pity that I can only give her 5 stars, she deserves 100 stars truly! Before I chose which admission consultant I wanted to work with, I didn’t only consider experience and choice of school expertise (Emma is LBS and some European schools expert) but I also wanted to make sure that the consultant was passionate, informative, and truly cared about my admissions journey. I chose Emma after a fit call with her and reviewing her YouTube video on the Fortuna channel. I’m so glad that I chose her! A lot of reviews mentioned choosing Emma if you want to go to LBS, but I got admitted to M7 school with Emma’s help! Fortuna Admissions shares the school insider info internally, so you don’t necessarily need to choose the consultant based on their school expertise, but also on their personal qualities. Emma is very, very, very informative, detailed, highly strategic, empathetic and truly cares about you. She made sure everything was done correctly from the start, including how I communicated with the admission team. She was able to formulate my story and my unique selling points so that my application was flawless. She advised on everything, from my cv, essay, recommendation letter, interview, and email communication. Everything! All this was done efficiently. you should also know that she’s not just a coach, she’s at the director level, all her guidance is strategic which set her apart from other coaches. When Emma had to take a few days leave due to illness, she told me to email her if anything happened during that period and she still replied to my emails just like usual. Have I mentioned that she replies to emails in a flash? I sometimes wonder if she sleeps at all!
I can honestly tell you that I would not make it to this MBA school without Emma’s help. You should also know that Emma’s satisfaction rate is 10/10 and she is one of the most experienced admission consultants out there. I can say with utmost confidence that you won’t regret working with Emma. She is the best admission consultant out there.
I made a good decision to work with Sharon to apply to 6 universities (Admitted on 4/6). She cared so much about my applications and she set a good rhythm and weekly meetings to ensure that we are on track. I recommend her to work with especially if you plan to apply to Wharton, Sloan, and Hass where she has shown strong experience in those schools’ applications. Also, she is a wonderful person that turns zoom calls into friendly and enjoyable conversations.
Without the help of Fortuna Admissions, I would not have gotten into my top choice school, CBS. I came to Fortuna through a referral and Judith was quick to hop on a call with me to understand my background and needs. I spent 2018-2022 singing opera but realized I wanted to transition my career into business in 2020. I was interested in management consulting and she suggested I speak with a former client who had also sung opera before transitioning into management consulting with BCG. After speaking with him I felt confident that I could apply despite my nontraditional background. Judith arranged a few meet and greets with potential admissions consultants, and after a few minutes on zoom with Catherine Tuttle, I knew she was the one for me. She proceeded to guide me through the whole process. We started with networking and school webinars. I shared my life story, reflecting on my interests, strengths, and weaknesses, which later became the basis of my essays. Before I knew it we had crafted a whole set of essays and a credible story for admissions committees. She also listened to me whine constantly for the first month about the GMAT. She was also extremely empathetic while I dealt with my imposter syndrome, but encouraged me to believe I could get into a great school. She was organized, efficient, knowledgeable, a terrific writer/editor, and just plain fun to talk to. She was happy to jump on a call at any time, though we had a regular zoom time each week to pow wow and organize. After I got over my initial giggles at our mock interviews, her prep allowed me to be calm and collected in all my interviews. I was also waitlisted to my top school and 2 others, and her advice sealed the deal for my admission as I navigated the waitlist. I absolutely could not have done it without Catherine.
After conducting thorough due diligence of +10 admission consulting firms (basically, I had a 30-min call with those +10 admission consulting firms), I decided to work with Fortuna for two reasons.
Firstly, Fortuna has a lot of experience in this industry. Secondly, contrary to other consulting firms, Fortuna was really trying to understand my need from the initial call vs. other consulting firms were trying to sell me their packages/offers during the first call… I disliked this second approach. My initial call was with Jenifer!
Jenifer was not my direct coach but provided me with her ideas and recommendations during the middle at the end of my admission preparation. It was certainly valuable to benefit from her experience.
I will be joining Stanford GSB next September 2022. I am so happy!
Thanks, Jenifer!
After conducting thorough due diligence of +10 admission consulting firms (basically, I had a 30-min call with those +10 admission consulting firms), I decided to work with Fortuna for two reasons. First, Fortuna has a lot of experience in this industry and, contrary to other consulting firms, Fortuna was really trying to understand my need from the initial call vs. other consulting firms were trying to sell me their packages/offers during the first call… I disliked this second approach. Second, I was pleased to work with Heidi because I saw on P&Q that she was among the top consultants with a perfect score (10/10).
During the last 7 months, Heidi has helped me to prepare my applications for round 2. Now, I totally understand why she got a perfect score from her customers. Heidi is very knowledgeable about the top MBA programs (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, etc.). She was of great help at each step of the application process!
What impressed me the most with Heidi was her responsiveness. She was able to get back to me in less than 24 hours! In such a stressful process, it is great to have a coach like Heidi who can get back to you in such a short timeframe.
Also, something I really liked about Heidi is that she always provided me with insights in a subtle way. It was never “I think you must do like this or like that” but it was “I believe X or Y… let’s discuss it and you can decide what you prefer”. I really liked this approach.
Finally, Heidi has been totally honest with me regarding the strengths and also weaknesses of my profile. She never tried to make things look more or less beautiful. She was very transparent and pragmatic.
Thanks, Heidi!
Karla was an amazing consultant! I truly believe that she did everything she possibly could to put me in the best position to be competitive at all of my target schools.
Like many others, I interviewed many consultants/firms and knew that Karla was the correct fit immediately. Karla went above and beyond – she put in the extra hours and effort (even beyond the hours, terms, etc. that are in the formal agreement). I believe that she is truly differentiated from other consultants because of her passion for her job and her true interest in getting to know you. She was able to answer any type of question about all of my schools – very informed! She was a great coach as well. As an applicant from a background that is not so differentiated and in a saturated pool (white, male, finance), I was a bit reluctant to give myself much of a chance at the top schools. Karla instilled confidence in me and helped me to stand out amongst similar applicants. Without her, there is no way I would have received a full-tuition scholarship. She is very positive and always willing to help. I would recommend her to anyone and have already recommended her to a few friends.
I highly recommend you chose Karla as your consultant.
I had a great time working with Melissa for the past few months as we navigated the business school application process. I was really worried at first because my GPA was much lower than the school averages, and I knew my GMAT score was not going to be high (I’m a horrible test taker). Melissa stayed calm the whole time and really helped me highlight my strengths in the essays and through the rest of the application. She stayed very calm and was extremely supportive. I appreciate her immense knowledge of the process, guidance and support, and clear communication.
Melissa’s extremely knowledgeable about the process and can help you fight for your best chance! I highly recommend her. I had a much lower GPA and test score, and got into my first top choice schools. I honestly don’t think I would’ve been able to do this without her.
Sharon Joyce is an excellent coach. I believe I would not have even had the number of interviews I received if not for her guidance, let alone acceptance at CMU Tepper and Alliance Manchester Business School. She listens very well and provides informed and accurate advice. What impressed me the most was that she took the time to get to know me as a person and incorporate that information into her guidance during essay writing and interview prep. Sharon did what I’d expect most coaches to do: – review my essays, LinkedIn profile, and resume – set a clear timeline for each step in the process – help with interview preparations BUT it was the extra steps that she took that make her such a good coach.
She not only helped by providing guidance about how to leverage my experiences to create a unique and intriguing story for the applications, but she also pushed me to reevaluate myself and my experiences in order to get down to the “who”, “what”, and “why”. Helping me to understand my own motivations for applying to an MBA program in the first place not only helped me craft better essays and interview responses but motivated me to truly apply myself to the application process.
Overall, Sharon was supportive, positive, and someone I enjoyed working with. She has all the knowledge and experience of the MBA admissions process to help an applicant be successful, AND the ability to translate that knowledge to the applicant in such a way as to allow them to best showcase themselves to the schools they are applying to.
I worked with Jenifer on two schools, and she was patient and made herself accessible throughout the whole process. The application process can be extremely stressful at times and it was a game-changer having Jenifer to guide me throughout it. She provided me with a lot of great advice and insight that was helpful to the other schools that I applied to as well.
At the end of the day, I believe that with her help – I was able to put forth an application that I was extremely happy with.
I had an awesome experience with Bill. He was incredibly supportive and always there for me when I needed him most during this application journey! There were many times when his words of encouragement helped give me the confidence to go forward.
He has a very wise perspective from his experience at Booth and can give you advice that will really suit your needs. I trust him 100%
By the time I finished my application journey, it felt like Bill had become more of a father figure to me. We had built up such an awesome rapport that by phone or email he could give any advice necessary and be there for support when needed! I am truly grateful that I got a chance to work with him and have a lifelong mentor/guide in my life.
Michael has been instrumental in helping me shape my pathway for the MBA and beyond. He is a wonderful listener and treats you like a friend. Many times our meetings feel like therapy because of Michael’s ability to ask the right questions, make you introspect, and come up with your own solutions makes him the ideal coach for this process.
Michael has been very helpful in tweaking my essays without changing the intention behind my words. He also helped me prepare for the interviews by doing mocks and post-mock reviews in a very detailed manner.
Michael continues to provide guidance to me like a mentor, even after my acceptance of an offer.
I worked with Silpa on an hourly package and she helped me gain admission to Stanford GSB and Kellogg. Her key areas of strength were helping me prioritize my efforts in the application process and bringing a real adcom’s perspective when reading my essays. Because Silpa has been in Stanford GSB’s adcom, she knows the relative importance of different parts of the application and understands how they are likely to react.
I had my first consultation call with Jenifer. When I told her about my background, she immediately helped me formulate my story, which had similarities with her own. She also paired me with the perfect coach thereafter. Jenifer continued to work closely with me as my second reviewer. She gave valuable input to my essays and made both me and my coach rethink the strategy and storyline we were going for. She challenged several points, for which I’m grateful as I was able to dig deeper and bring out a solid and well-knit story to support my applications. Jenifer was also very prompt with her responses and always stuck to the promised turnaround time. I appreciate her guidance and support throughout my MBA application journey
Emma reviewed, edited, and oversaw all the work that I did with Jenifer, my primary coach. She provided insightful feedback as to how I could structure my essays so that they would come across as truly authentic and pack the most powerful punch. She helped me to highlight aspects of my past stories and bring them to life in a way that would resonate with admissions. A great coach all in all.
I worked with Jenifer on a number of applications. With each one she helped me to understand the uniqueness of that school and how I could build the most competitive application for each one. She helped me dig deeper into my past to uncover the stories and events that would resonate with admissions, events that I would have probably overlooked. All in all, a great guide to have in my corner as I went about this process.
Working with Karla was the best decision I made in pursuing assistance with my MBA applications. She went up and beyond to make sure that I was very well prepared for each school.
One of the things that made my decision to work with Karla easy, is the fact that she was interested in knowing me the person, not the applicant, which led me to open up about my background and my life decisions from childhood which I used as a foundation for my story.
Working with Rachel helped me discover my authentic self during the application process. She untangled my story and background and help me navigate through it. When looking at the final application, I knew I would not have been able to create a coherent and well-rounded application without Rachel. Besides navigating my story, Rachel helped me be organized and made sure I was on track. She went above and beyond in helping me shape a wonderful authentic application. Working with Rachel has been a blessing.
I worked with Jenifer on a 3-school package and cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with her. Despite going through many ups and downs around testing, waitlists, etc. Jenifer kept me at ease every step of the way. She really challenged me and helped me bring the best story out of my life and career in my essays and resume. She was very supportive of me in the programs I chose to focus on and the interview prep she provided was vital in me securing acceptances. Her sage advice and guidance throughout helped me to achieve my goals and to secure a scholarship at one of my top schools. Working with Jenifer was an absolute blessing, she was extremely personable and compassionate while remaining professional and timely with all of our correspondence (despite a near 12-hour time difference between us). If you are looking for a coach, Fortuna is top of the list and has plenty to offer, but Jenifer stands out the most from my experience. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone going through the MBA application process!
I am very grateful to have had Julie as a consultant throughout the MBA application process, from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful in reviewing my essays, preparing me for interviews, and helping me select a list of schools to apply to with confidence. Ultimately, with her help, I was admitted to my top choice program! I recommend Julie wholeheartedly.
I worked with Rachel on preparing for my GSB interview. Her insights and guidance have really made a difference for me and played a crucial role in my admission to my #1 school. Rachel took the time to really get to know me and was extremely helpful in crafting my stories, tackling the weak points, and appropriately applying each story to its relevant question and message. She came prepared for our session and provided quick and thoughtful feedback that also allowed me to effectively utilize my learning time in the days before the interview. I cannot emphasize enough how valuable her tips were in the actual interview. Bottom line, If you are looking to get into Stanford – Rachel is the one.
TLDR: Working with Karla is a no-brainer – reach out to her early to secure your spot!
Karla is incredible. Without her, I am certain that I would not have produced an application of such quality and depth.
From the first meeting, Karla immediately sets herself apart with her candor and warmth. She takes the time to thoroughly understand your background and goals and provides an honest assessment of your competitiveness for the programs you seek.
Once you start working with her, it’s clear that she knows exactly what the adcoms are looking for. Her personable nature puts you at ease, and she’s an expert at asking you the right questions to help pull meaningful and unique anecdotes out of you – the type that forms the basis for essays that can set you apart.
Her interview prep is top-notch as well — overall, she provides support end to end on the application and is always just a text away for any questions you have.
Overall, she takes your application personally, as if it were her own, and is a terrific partner to help you put your best foot forward. Work with Karla, you won’t regret it.
I found Karla through a recommendation from a friend who got into HBS. I had a total of less than five months, from STARTING to study for the GMAT to FINISHING a few full MBA school applications. Without Karla’s knowledge and help, I would have been extremely overwhelmed, lost, and quite honestly, probably not have made it through the entire process.
Karla is extremely knowledgeable about the different school programs. She has extensive knowledge on what each program is looking out for in their candidates. In addition, she sees you for who you are and recognizes your strengths without you even realizing your own strengths at times – Karla helps you to build the best and most truthful version of yourself. What’s even more amazing about Karla is that she goes out of her way, above and beyond to support her clients in every possible way. She was extremely helpful in many different aspects throughout the application processes and even after the results are out. I would have been SO lost without Karla’s guidance and help. Thank you, Karla!!!
I got a late start to my applications and the guidance and structure from Fortuna was instrumental in helping me and my recommenders meet the deadlines to apply to 4 schools. I didn’t have enough time to take advantage of a full school package, but still got a lot of assistance with strategizing, editing and interview prep. Heidi was extremely responsive and straightforward, often sending back actionable comments to me within a few hours. She came to understand my background, stories and strengths to highlight and encouraged me to create detailed and well rounded responses. She clearly knows the MBA landscape very well and was a valuable resource throughout the process.
Emma has helped me to secure the LBS MBA program offer! She has been incredibly helpful in the process and the coaching methodology has proven to be the most effective and efficient. I started my application in October 2021, which is quite late to the game, while preparing for my GMAT, Emma has helped edited my application and later prepared me for the interviews. Without Emma, I would not be able to secure the offer from the top business school.
Silpa thinks critically and helps formulate questions that help tremendously in fine-tuning the essays and the overall application. This is crucial for the selection processes followed by the top institutes in the world- This is what makes or breaks an application. I got through the top 5 universities including Stanford and Wharton. Her comments and suggestions were very helpful. I highly recommend her.
I worked with Heidi for S & W out of the “HSW”. When I mentioned I’d also be applying for Booth and Sloan, she was able to adapt the package and help me with those too. With her help, I was able to get in at Booth! She was extremely helpful in helping me craft my story and tackle weak points. The interview prep was also essential!
Rachel is a strong coach because she focuses on the applicant’s authentic vision (nurturing that through a thoughtful reflection process and writing revisions) and is a close partner through dozens of reviews. I consulted with Rachel on a 1-school package but felt her input improved all of my applications. I was ultimately admitted to 3 strong schools including one of my top choices, Wharton.
Sharon is an excellent coach. Without her guidance, I would not get into Berkeley Haas. I am grateful for her guidance during my application process. She is very friendly, easy to communicate with, and has excellent leadership qualities. She spent a significant amount of time with me on Zoom, phone, or email. In addition, she reviewed my application diligently in each section, like supplementary information, resume, essays, and interview. Some of the actions that she took that made a difference in my application: – She listened to my stories and reviewed my resume, LinkedIn profile, and draft essays. – She provided strategy action steps with a specific timeline – Her approach provided accountability for me to stick with the timeline. After learning about my life experience, Sharon guided me to write my essays with a unique vision and objective. With her suggestions, I identified a few weak points in my essays. In addition, she helped me identify a few of my life stories to write as storytelling, which would appeal to admission committees. Finally, being from an overrepresenting engineer category, I wanted to distinguish myself from the pool of similar applicants; Sharon’s suggestions helped me do that.
She also helped me immensely with interview preparation: She delved into each possible question and spent a lot of time preparing for an answer, and then we did a dry run. She pointed out a few weak points in my responses, such as my voice, pronunciation, and filer words. She asked me to practice, practice and practice.
I had a fantastic experience with her, and I strongly recommend her to other applicants who want to get an excellent return for the bucks that you would spend with a consultant.
I worked with Heidi for my applications to H/S/W and could not be happier with the decision I made to work with her (I interviewed a lot of coaches before deciding to go with Heidi!).
Heidi is the perfect mix of thoughtful, articulate, candid, and encouraging. She always came prepared for our calls and provided very quick feedback on my essays. I also really appreciated the way she took the time to really get to know me and understand my story! This proved to be super helpful as we iterated on essay drafts.
I ended up interviewing with 2 of the 3 schools, got accepted to one, and waitlisted at the other!
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Sharon Joyce during the Fall 2022 R2 application cycle, during which I was accepted to A. my top choice, top-tier MBA program, and B. every program to which I applied.
As a dual-degree applicant from a non-traditional background, I knew I had to dive a bit deeper to understand how admissions committees think, and go about the process of building a diverse class. Our time working together has left me with a far deeper understanding of the MBA admissions process than I will make any attempt to retain now that the application cycle is, thankfully, over.
Sharon was punctual, responsive, and supportive, but more important than any of this, she had a genuine desire to build a collaborative relationship. Instead of writing out cookie-cutter essays, we worked together to develop my own unique story and brand as a candidate. She encouraged me to be myself, but the best and sharpest version of myself. That’s the true benefit of working with a coach, and it’s gotten me to where I am today.
I cannot recommend her highly enough.
UMICH Ross, class of 2024
If your application package is flawless and you just want a consultant’s review of your work, I would say you probably will be okay with or without a consultant. But if you need a true thinker and strategist, I would strongly recommend him.
Before I talked with Bill, I had already spoken with a few consultants and started my preparation. Back then I was not sure which one (MBA vs EMBA) suits me better/gives me a better chance to get in. I also think my application package has some flaws. I specifically wanted to find a true thinker to leverage my shining points and counter my weakness.
During this preparation journey working with a few consultants, I observed that:
1. Some consultants would oversell themselves by saying how confident they believe in your case, but avoid your challenging questions to solve problems.
2. Some consultants make a living via their “formula” hence they try to put you into it to boost your success rate. However, that framework might not be who you are. When you give your opinion on this strategy, some consultants are not able to coordinate outside of their “formula.”
I like working with Bill for a few reasons:
1. He is very flexible. Whenever you need him he is there for you.
2. He is able to listen to you for who you are and how you want to present yourself. He supports you in the direction you need.
3. He is able to think through some complex situations during the journey and gives very good suggestions accordingly. I found this intelligence is greatly indicated in his career success. I also read a few articles about him published on websites in China.
4. He is patient. When there are disagreements in a conversation, he is able to still think from your ground and solve your problems. He gives the right amount of support you need.
5. He understands the value of an MBA admission consultant is to help you achieve your goal. He works towards this goal to best serve you.
In the end, I got into the school I wanted the most, with Bill’s help. I didn’t get into the schools I less wanted and apparently, I didn’t hire Bill for those schools either. I think this result is also a true reflection of his value to my journey.
I hope this review can save you some money that I wasted on mine.
I can honestly say……if you are wanting to get into Stanford GSB, Heidi is worth every penny!!!!!!! TLDR: admitted to GSB with a lower GMAT/GRE score and started my application late. Can honestly say Heidi was integral in that result.
I was someone who came into the process deeply skeptical about the value of admissions consultants following a less-than-impressive experience with another company on an application where they added little value to my essays other than grammatical/word choice corrections and seemed to be actively trying to chew up my purchased time. Heidi was the COMPLETE opposite. Right off the bat, she completely changed the direction and style I had in mind for my essays for Stanford compared to those I had prepared for other schools. Each review of a draft, she would mark up detailed comments with clear, actionable comments on how I could strengthen this particular paragraph or needed a new story – extremely helpful. Not only that but she was very efficient and would actively try to conserve our remaining time by pointing out when a 10 min review and email back was sufficient vs when a 30 min call was needed for a more complex draft critique. I actually ended up purchasing additional hours with Heidi willingly because I was getting so much value out of our time – she really has an innate sense of what Stanford GSB is looking for. Yes, Fortuna is expensive compared to other consultants but I actually do think the price reflects the value in this case. If you are serious about getting into the GSB, invest in Heidi.
Karla is fantastic. From our very first phone call, I knew I wanted to work with Karla (actually to be honest from our first email!). While a lot of consultants I talked with tried to package and shape me into a standard profile, Karla saw me for who I was, and was genuinely excited about my candidacy (even when other consultants told me I had no chance because of my low GPA). Karla drew out my unique story, and at the same time helped me craft an application that was 100% truly me. Cannot recommend her enough!!!
I worked with Silpa for 8-hours to help prepare applications for GSB and HBS – it was worth every penny! Silpa was direct, encouraging, and realistic. She helped me strategize on where to invest my time and our time. Consequently, we focused on my resume, LoR briefs, and short answers. Silpa helped me transform my application from a list of accomplishments to a holistic narrative that was balanced and most importantly, true. While she encouraged me to highlight my best self, she made sure it was rooted in my experiences. Silpa’s attention to detail and help with conveying my stories with limited work/character counts were vital to creating a great application and keeping me sane.
I just accepted a spot at my top choice school for the class of 2024 and Silpa was a huge part of getting me there!
Totally agree with others who left reviews on this page -“Karla is as good as it gets” is a fantastic way to describe the experience of working with her. What I also want to highlight is that she doesn’t simply provide technical guidance with her deep expertise in MBA programs; moreover, she presents her authentic self to you and offers genuine mental support throughout the long and sometimes stressful journey of the application process.
I found Karla after I was invited to interview for the Harvard MS/MBA program. At the time, I was excited, but honestly scared because I simply felt unprepared and didn’t know what to expect. When I signed up for coaching with Karla, she broke it up into different sessions, prep (informing me in detail of what an HBS interview is like and what they are looking for), several follow-up mock interviews with a variety of questions, to equip me with all I needed for the interview process. During each session, she makes sure to genuinely acknowledge my strengths and improvements, making me feel warm, supported, and confident. In terms of room for improvements, she provides wonderful feedback on how to frame arguments differently and effectively, how to use the Mckinsey way to summarize and present, how to develop depth, etc. What I loved the most is that each time she’d leave small homework assignments, which are essentially points/questions to consider, which allowed me to explore, investigate and compile more information to enrich my arguments. I simply saw my own progress after each session with her.
What’s even more amazing about Karla is that she goes above and beyond to support her candidate in every possible way. I was not only truly amazed by how she deeply understands the intricate differences between different b-schools – their values and culture, but also mind-blown by how quickly she can get me on board, through concise summaries and facts, to capture key factors of successful interviews. When I admitted how stressed I felt when I had to do two interviews within the same week, she said “I know you got this. You are ready.” It meant a lot to me!
I sincerely wanted to credit a lot of my success with the HBS MS/MBA program and Wharton MBA to Karla. Looking back, I truly wish I had started off the application process with Karla instead of soloing up to the point of the interview. There is simply abundant evidence that under her guidance I could have learned so much more ahead of time for my other applications, and, in many cases, the learnings are not limited to the application, but to future study/work If you ever apply for b-schools, and ever wonder whether or who you should work with a coach, hire Karla!
I have worked closely with Emma Bond for about two months, from the initial goal assessment session and all the way through getting accepted. Emma has been extremely helpful offering invaluable advice on all submitted material as well as the interview process. Her guidance along the way was key and all the advice has been top-notch. She is always super responsive and she goes above and beyond for her students, being available all the time on evenings and weekends too. I am most grateful.
I highly recommend Fortuna and Emma and I would work with them again anytime. If you want to maximize your chances of getting accepted with valuable feedback from top insider professionals, Fortuna is your top choice.
Brittany is a highly professional and experienced consultant. I was applying to the 2nd round to top MBA schools including HSB and GSB with quite short timeline. From the start, she was very attentive in reviewing all my background documents, resume and essays. Discussing further with her, she was really able to distill down all my relevant credentials and background into a streamlined story that made it unique and truly reflecting me. She was super helpful with all her comments and helped me through the Christmas break to finish all applications in time.
Really appreciate her positive attitude and genuine willingness to help!
I got in touch with Karla based on the incredibly strong recommendations of a couple friends, including one who was a successful reapplicant (this year was my second time applying after getting into Wharton with a little bit of scholarship last year). From our first call, I could tell she would be a great fit for me – she is incredibly enthusiastic and personable and is truly in your corner. Having spoken and worked with multiple admissions consultants, I was consistently blown away by Karla’s deep knowledge of the admissions process (especially at top schools like Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton) – she knows exactly what they’re looking for and how to best position yourself. I found Karla to be much more forward-thinking and creative than other consultants; she really helped me refine my narrative and craft an application that was far superior to my first attempt. She is also just a pleasure to work with, extremely supportive, available, and caring.
Ultimately, I got into GSB as a reapplicant and was readmitted to Wharton with a full ride vs. ~25% scholarship in my first application. Couldn’t be happier to have worked with Karla and would recommend her to anyone.
This is Sourya Mukherjee from India. I worked with Sharon my MBA applications to a few schools this year. I had a great experience and have received offers from the Kellogg MBAi program, and full-time MBA programs at Haas, Ross and Tepper.
It was great working with Sharon. I felt that her understanding of what the schools are looking for was extremely thorough. This was escpecially relevant for my reapplicant essays to Haas, Kellogg and the MBAi essay at Kellogg. We started out by doing an online evaluation that helped me identify my key strengths, which formed the foundation for a lot of my essays. We then worked on strategies on how to highlight growth and development in reapplicant essays.
The process was very smooth and Sharon made me feel extremely comfortable. She gave me the confidence to truly express the creative side of me (as a musician) and I feel that made my essays and application very genuine and unique. I’m really thankful to her for this. Although we had an 8-hour package, which was exhausted pre-application, she continued supporting me post-admit as well, helping me secure a $40K scholarship at Tepper.
Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend Sharon and Fortuna Admissions!
I worked with Heidi for HSW applications this past autumn, getting into H and W. I got the 8-hour package for ~$3.5K and thought it was fantastic value for money. Heidi was a big value add in being a first sounding board for my ideas. Her experience in the field lets her give instant feedback about what’s actually unique and what’s in fact rather generic. She’s also refreshingly “no bulls***” and will tell you her thoughts straight up, letting you make faster progress. In particular, we did a lot of work articulating a post-MBA career vision, which was a weak spot of mine coming in. The mock HBS interview that she did was also super helpful in prepping me for the real thing.
Going into the MBA Application experience I would compare to drinking out of a fire hose. Information is everywhere, and it’s mostly conflicting and from unknown sources.
Julie was able to first and foremost distill the “so-what” of that information and apply it directly to what I wanted out of my experience.
It’s not always easy to stick out, but with Julie’s guidance, I was able to put together essays and a profile of who I am, and what I want that I was proud of. I can’t thank her enough for her honesty, support, and cheerleading throughout the experience.
Very professional. Michel helped me secure interviews with Wharton and Yale. Worth the money!!
Despite stats below the medians at every school, I applied to, with Sharon’s help I was accepted to 1 M7 and 2 T10s!
Sharon was incredibly easy for me to talk to, and was available through all forms of communication throughout our time working together (and in the leadup to deadlines almost 24/7). As a non-traditional applicant, I was worried about the process and Sharon made it easy for me to understand exactly what I needed to work on to put my best foot forward. She was very specific and nuanced about her edits and advice, and I feel like without her touch I would not have been even close to successful. Also as someone who leaves things to deadlines a little too often, her very direct but respectful approach and clear and effective timelines were incredibly helpful.
Working with Karla Cohen was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Before diving into my story, if you’re reading this and you’re on the fence about choosing Karla: she is relentlessly hardworking, exceptionally knowledgable, and outright brilliant.
I interviewed several consultants before speaking with Karla, but after our first call, I knew immediately that she could offer the expertise I was looking for. What I didn’t know was that I was also hiring a skilled empath and de facto psychologist to guide me through a very stressful process.
Karla has unparalleled, deep knowledge about every school that we discussed. Her network is similarly without equal: if I wanted to speak to a member or alumni of School X, Karla had several that she could introduce me to. She made a process that was previously opaque and frustrating perfectly transparent.
For about 8 months, I probably spoke with Karla at least once per day–she was both coach and psychologist. Karla provided expert advice on applications, prepped me for interviews, and debriefed me after each step. Karla knows me as well as any friend I have, which is a testament to how much she cares and how deep she’s able to get in terms of understanding who you are as a person and applicant.
I ultimately got into my dream school, and am currently attending Yale SOM full time. I cannot recommend Karla highly enough, thank you, Karla!
I cannot emphasize enough how lucky I feel to have worked with Heidi. My story was unique and tricky to tell. We re-wrote my first essay several times, and then one day Heidi sent me a message after waking up in the middle of the night with an idea of how to write my story! Her solution was perfect! Even before this event, I knew that Heidi truly cared about my success and that I could trust her. She helped me craft a beautiful authentic story that I am beyond proud of.
I recommend her to any and all of my friends going through this process. She was always accessible and responded/turned around edits quickly. I loved our calls and I already miss them.
She was amazing during interview prep as well. I felt extremely prepared in all 4 of my interviews. After my first two interviews, she recommended that we get a different perspective for my third and we had another coach do my practice interview. Heidi wanted me to succeed and knew when to pull in someone else so we could make sure I was always putting my best foot forward.
I could not have asked for a better coach/ advisor/ resource during this process. I cannot wait to attend my dream school this fall!! Thank you, Heidi!!!!!!!!!!!
Brittany’s helped me tremendously throughout the MBA process and I definitely wouldn’t have achieved the same results without her. She gave concise, directed feedback for all aspects of my applications, including resume reviews, asking for recommendations, ideating my essay topics, editing my essays, and preparing for my interviews. Her advice, based off her experience, really impacted the cohesiveness and effectiveness of my overall application. She was extremely organized, responsive, and supportive throughout the process – a true expert that will most definitely improve anyone’s odds of being admitted into a top MBA program!
