I’m an Indian CA, a financial controller at a global brokerage firm. Previously I’ve been an auditor with a global consulting firm. I’m a big movie buff, I love watching and writing about them; and I love teaching and public speaking. I plan to be an impact investor in India and put my might behind public education, especially in rural India.

1. Set up a private coaching center in Mumbai for school and college students – especially financially challenged kids, and over 4 years I helped over 200 students improve their grades (60 of them weren’t charged a fee). 2. Underwent a complete personality transformation at college – from a shy introvert to an award-winning public speaker.
I intend to set up an impact investment fund and a private equity firm in India – with the impact investment fund investing in educational startups in India to aid primary and higher education. To achieve this, I plan to work as an investment banker post-MBA, then with a leading private equity firm for a few years before starting my own venture.

Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. You have some great experience both in financial services and your extracurriculars. Your goals are admirable and ad-coms will like seeing that you’ve already been involved in education issues in India, having leadership roles. Your stats are stellar, which will be very attractive to Booth. You’ll need to show how you plan to pivot to impact investing from where you are now, so perhaps talk about an internship that can gain you experience and credibility in the space. If you can write solid essays with a compelling narrative, ad-coms will want to root for you to succeed. Good luck!
