My story starts off in high school where I managed to network my way into a football scholarship. A scholarship which I subsequently had to give up to work full-time and help my mother. This lead to community college and then UCF all while working full time. I faced an uphill climb my entire life and have summit every challenge. I am an immigrant from Venezuela who is currently an originations Associate at a top RE finance firm. Recently, I fulfilled my āAmerican Dreamā when I bought my mother a home. I love Harry Potter and Iām passionate about helping underprivileged youth.

As a student at the University of Central Florida my recruiting options for finance were very limited. Knowing this, I applied to be a camp counselor at summer camp in PA that I was told had very affluent connections. I met the president of my current firm at the camp and three promotions later the rest is history.
My goal is to transition into management consulting post MBA. While I enjoy the work I do, I would like to pivot into this field.

Hi Mr. Upward Trajectory! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant, weighing in on your profile. Wow, sounds like we could all use some networking tips from you! I love how you hustled to overcome obstacles and made the most of the opportunities you have been given. I think schools will admire that, and your commitment to family. Your stats (GPA/GMAT) are a bit lower than I’d like for a top school like Harvard, but I still think you’ve got a shot, especially since you have such a strong personal story. I would encourage you to dig a bit deeper on your post MBA goals — why consulting? What kind of work/problems do you want to solve? How do you see yourself using those skills …
