Hi Mr. Deferred Indian Engineer, Impressive achievements! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission and GSB alum. I like that you have an outstanding academic track record (undergrad GPA and GMAT), professional internships and extracurricular leadership (youth delegate, competitions, writing). Part of what AdCom would want to know is – what motivates you to engage in all these activities? Not only do I encourage you to share what you’re most passionate about (out of all your interest), but do dig deeper to describe how your personal stories have influenced your leadership and teamwork styles. As you put your app together, also be sure to paint out your future career goals. What do you love about being in operations / manufacturing? How will an MBA help you start …

As you put your app together, also be sure to paint out your future career goals. What do you love about being in operations / manufacturing? How will an MBA help you start / run your own manufacturing company? What area would it be in? ? If you can articulate this compellingly in your essays, as well as weave in personal stories that show who you are, that would be the key to your application success. Hi Mr. Deferred Indian Engineer, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. So as a deferred candidate, you have a couple of key things that deferred programs are looking for: strong academic and test performance, strong leadership in university and a sense of what you want to do with your career. I also think your international experience will be an asset to your application, especially since you talk about wanting to do global operations. Did your international exposure at university play into your global operations goals? It looks like Stanford is the only school you plan to apply to – and for a deferred application, that is fine. You can always apply to a larger group of schools in 3-4 years. Remember that Stanford looks for individuals …

Remember that Stanford looks for individuals who want to create a big impact. What impact would you create with your manufacturing company that you want to start in the long term? What change do you want to create and why? I like that you have had experience in global ops consulting because you can talk about your plan with this experience as evidence to you career path. What experiences did you have in your internship that inspired you? And again, what opportunities do you see to create change in global operations? Make sure to do research about what resources you will get involved with at GSB – and how you will contribute to the class. Keep in mind that the acceptance rate of GSB is 7%. Reach out if I can answer any other questions. Best of luck!
