I am a hands-on engineering expert and people driving machine. I love integrating technology (my passion) with people to bring about exciting results. I am the only one to get selected for P&G out of 1500 university students despite having a poor GPA due to very tough circumstances. I continued to freely and enthusiastically implement drastic improvements in BAT & P&G resulting in a high-flying career.

Hi Mr. Dragon Age, this is Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission. I do think Ross could be a tough target with your GPA; in an earlier year, you might have managed to break through given your other accomplishments, but this year has been very challenging for many applicants. I hope you are broadening your list to include other schools! That said, I really love your excellent impact at work and your upward trajectory at a classic CPG firm. I agree that you might benefit from additional pre-MBA coursework — getting an A can help show readiness for an MBA now…and don’t forget to use the optional essay to explain context without excuses for your undergraduate grades. Mr. Dragon Age – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus.
I’ll get right to the point. Your undergrad performance could be a non-starter at any T15 program. I spent many years reviewing applications from Pakistani candidates during my time at Duke Fuqua and noticed that nearly everyone had a terrible GPA (but none as low as yours). While your strong GRE helps, you need to take a pre-MBA math course (possibly more than one) and get an A to demonstrate that you are a different student today than you were as an undergrad. Use the optional essay to explain (but not excuse) your poor performance.

Beyond your GPA, there is a lot to like. You have clearly made an impact through your work and I admire your entrepreneurial initiative.
You might take a look at some European programs where a GPA on a 4.0 scale doesn’t factor into media rankings. Since you want to go into consulting, INSEAD might be a good option.
Wishing you all the best!
I am a current Ross student, I think that if you come across as personable, and maybe retake GRE to score higher, you have a good shot. Try not to dwell on your undergrad performance, or provide context if everyone had low grades (which I know is true of south asian countries). Good luck
