Hi Mr. Hopeful Aerospace Entrepreneur, Congratulations on the success of your prototype and winning the National Award for your gas turbine design! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I like that you have a differentiated work background and know how the MBA will help you scale your company. That said, your GPA and GMAT are a shade below the averages at Booth. I don’t think these are deal-breakers, but could potentially affect the competitiveness of your profile. If possible, I suggest retaking the GMAT. Even a 10 or 20 point bump could make a difference in this competitive application process. If you find yourself hitting a ceiling, consider the GRE. In addition, as you put your app together, don’t hesitate to use personal stories to differentiate yourself even more. You mention you’re involved in organic farming. I really like that you can articulate why you need an MBA! Being able to tie together your past experiences, through an MBA to achieve your career aspirations will be key to securing a seat at Booth or another top program. Booth has very strong entrepreneurial resources and the fact that the ONLY required course is a leadership course highlights Booth’s commitment to developing business leaders. Make sure to dig into Booth’s flexible curriculum so you can showcase what courses you will take and what you hope to learn. Equally important will be for you to explore the outside activities (Polsky Center) that you might participate in and contribute to during …

Your GMAT is lower than the average at Booth (and an M7 school) so I would encourage you to retake if you haven’t already maxed out your score.
Wishing you all the best!
