I am currently serving with Wounded Warrior Regiment, a unit whose mission is to care for and recover wounded, ill, and injured Marines. In early 2020, I designed, launched, and now maintain an online, secured database that tracks the over 10,000 individual data points that drives decision making of the care of over 100 Marines and Sailors.

    Regarding the rest of your profile – while your GPA is very strong and you analytical skills are evident, I would try retaking the GMAT to get closer to Wharton’s average – given the competitiveness of the program (and the fact that it’s expected to be a very competitive year given the state of the economy) you want to have every edge possible.     Mr. Marine to MBA – Thanks for posting your profile and thank you for your service, especially for the work you are doing for wounded warriors.

    Although your GMAT is slightly below the Wharton average, I wouldn’t be concerned given that you have a killer GPA from a top university in a highly quantitative field. Get in touch with the military club folks at Wharton and other schools – they will offer guidance as you navigate the process. Wharton is a great place for you to continue to develop your quant/data skills but also to figure out what is the best post-MBA role (perhaps data analytics within a company or data analytics consulting) that will put you on track to eventually run your own firm.
