You look like a really solid guy and your work experience in strategy at a Fortune 500 company, along with that early promotion, should make a big difference in your candidacy. While your GPA is below the class average at Tuck, it’s still within range, particularly given your solid GMAT score. Your post-MBA goal to work for MBB also makes great sense. It’s linear and builds on your corporate experience in strategy. I also think your extras–serving as an executive for an NGO supporting refugees and being finance director for a nonprofit–will work to your advantage. One thing to consider: I don’t see anything here in your profile that convinces me you are a natural fit for Tuck. Sure, Tuck is a great place …

One thing to consider: I don’t see anything here in your profile that convinces me you are a natural fit for Tuck. Sure, Tuck is a great place to go for a job with a major consulting firm, but you need to sell me and them a bit more on why Tuck is your first choice.
Hi from mbaMission; this is Michael. I first wanted to comment on your NGO extra-curricular experience, which is impressive and shows really strong leadership. That’s a nice differentiator. Your stats are decent too, especially your GMAT. And even though your GPA is a bit below the average, you should still be able to convince the schools that you have the quantitative ability to succeed in the classroom. Your work experience looks good, especially having been promoted one year early. It will be important to illustrate the leadership roles you have taken on, which should be significant given your Strategy Manager position. Finally, I think your goal of MBB is realistic, given your background. As for your odds at Tuck, I see them as a bit above the average acceptance rate, close to 20%. Good luck!
