Mr. Military Communications Officer, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. First, thank you for your service. Sounds like you’ve had some really interesting international tours – and maybe now based at Leonard Wood? And now teaching to boot! Your military (and international) experience will be valued by Tuck and other programs. Your stats are solid and will put you in good competition, even with a GRE slightly below the school’s average. I think it comes down to 2 things: your post-MBA goals and fit with the Tuck culture. For your goals, I can definitely see IT/Comms for a large company – but would want to dig a bit deeper on why consulting. For your application you are going to want to choose a path – which …
For your application you are going to want to choose a path – which are you most passionate about? And where do you want to go long term? Which of the 2 will help you achieve that long term goal? You want to show admissions that you’ve thought about what tools you need from an MBA, to build in the short term to help you grow to your long term aspiration. As far as culture, I am guessing if it’s your top choice – you’ve talked with some students to really see their values of personal, connected and transformative. You will want to show through your application how you embody these values and how you hope to enrich the class with your collaborative approach to learning. I think your chances are higher than the average (hope the McCombs interview went well!) Reach out if I can answer any questions.
