Hi Mr. Sports Biz, Kristen from MBA Prep School here. It sounds like you are doing some really interesting work at the intersection of sports, marketing, and analytics (definitely a hot topic these days). You did a great job of quantifying some impactful contributions you have made, which is especially important in the admissions process. Hi Mr. Sports Biz, Kristen from MBA Prep School here. It sounds like you are doing some really interesting work at the intersection of sports, marketing, and analytics (definitely a hot topic these days). You did a great job of quantifying some impactful contributions you have made, which is especially important in the admissions process. I also really like that you are doing volunteer work that relates to your passion for sports. A few things do jump out at me. While your GMAT is right around the average for Darden, your amount of work experience is on the lower end. I’m glad you are considering waiting a year to apply to get a bit more experience under your belt. Look out for opportunities to lead teams and initiatives, to get outside of your comfort zone, and to continue making a quantifiable difference. You also should give some thought to clarifying your career goals. Right now your goal is very abstract and general. Why do you want to go into consulting to learn to solve business problems rather than work in operations within the industry? How would consulting help you to then go back to sports? Long-term, what do you want to do in the sports industry that is impactful (work for a league or team, work in CPG related to sports, etc.)? Spend some time working out these details, and you will increase your chance of admission at these target schools. Feel free to reach out to talk through your plans further, we are happy to help!
