Hi Mr. Supply Chain Photographer, You must have had an interesting year as a supply chain professional! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I like that you come from a differentiated function and industry. Your perspectives on global sourcing and supply chain management will surely be interesting in the business school classroom. I also like that you have unique personal interests as a motorsports fan and nature photographer, and you also are a leader within the engineering community. That said, your GPA and GMAT score could be a concern for AdCom. If possible, consider retaking the GMAT to get closer to the HBS average of 730. If you find yourself hitting a ceiling with the GMAT, do look into the GRE. The study content is similar …

Hi Mr. Supply Chain Photographer, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Now is such an interesting time to be in supply chain, especially automotive. Others I am working with in the automotive space have been talking about how the chip shortages are impacting their work. I am sure you are feeling the same. And it sounds like you are enjoying your work since you are talking about growing in management in the industry. And sSince you are talking about growing within your industry, you will want to be clear about what you need from an MBA and articulate how an MBA will help you grow more quickly through your career. Do you hope to stay in the US to work, head back to India or someone else in the world? What opportunities do you see in supply chain for disruption? You are also applying on the younger side of the 3-8 years we generally see for full time programs. All programs will be looking for evidence of your leadership potential, so make sure to leverage stories where you have led teams, budgets, projects, initiatives. You might consider getting another year or two of experience, which will give you some more time to focus on the GMAT. Your current score is 30 points below HBS and below many on your list. To increase your competitiveness, you should work to either increase your score, or consider the GRE. Also, you will not need to convert your GPA to the US 4 pt system, not sure where this puts you with GPA. Overall, HBS is going to be tough – consider some additional experience and increasing your score to help your chances improve.
